A close call between:

Coming to America (Eddie Murphy - genius)
and
Brewsters Millions (Richard Pryor - insanely funny)

Wow.

I normally live in the Movie / Gaming forums and this thread would be a lot different if you did put it in the Movies section. The answers here are films that are mostly 20+ years old. If this was the Movies forum I think there's be a lot more recent ones on here.

Interesting stuff !
It's cos we are mostly old bastards in here.

Zoolander
Dodgeball

Oh, and another film I thought would be complete shite but really like was......Boat Trip. I think going into it with zero expectation probably helped. Lots!

Airplane and Animal House as they were both the forefront of their comedy genres.

However Airplane is vastly superior.

It rotates for me between Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary, Wayne's World and The Wedding Singer.

Porky's.

However, with certain films, I'd get the superior versions on DVD. That is more extras, uncut etc.

Porky's R1 America

Trading Places R1 America

Hot Shots and Hot Shots Part Deux R1 America

Bill & Ted R1 America

Ace Ventura R1 America

Analyze This/Analyze That R1 America

etc.

Blu-ray may be different, if available.

Groundhog Day

Tucker and Dale vs Evil.

The French make some good comedy films like

Welcome to the Sticks (Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis)

Les Visiteurs and the American remake Just Visiting

Use to love watching Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Marx brothers and Jacques Tati on the tv when I was young.
Why don't they show them on the telly anymore?

Bit like Airplane, but funnier.

I'm just so relieved that not a single person has nominated The Hangover.

What's with the 'of all time' thing in the titles of these threads?

Not only is it factually incorrect as time has not yet ended but it has a desperate fan girl ring to it - like BEST BOY BAND EVAH!!!111

Actually, it's because most of the comedy films made over the last 10-20 years have been unfunny, tedious gross-out 'comedies' by Hollywood morons. Bridesmaids and There's Something about Mary spring to mind.
