Cross posting some blatant self promotion from Virgin Media forums. I hope that's OK.

I thought you all may be interested that I’ve got my Windows Phone TiVo app working (again) and published in the Marketplace. It's based on the network protocol used by their "TV Anywhere" iPad app, so over time I should be able to extend it to do most things you can do from the box itself (and possibly more ).

You can get it by either using the direct link below, or by searching the marketplace for "TiVo" on the marketplace. Mine's the one called "Show List for TiVo".

Direct store link:
http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=...7-9e48ecd1bbd5

Website:
http://apps.swythan.co.uk/

It currently supports:

Connect via LAN (Home mode)
Connect via the internet over the cable connection: no ethernet necessary! (Away Mode)
Home mode: Automatically find TiVo IP address (and select between multiple TiVos)
List recordings on the TiVo (i.e. "My Shows")
List scheduled recordings (i.e. "My Planned Recordings")
Program guide: List what’s on all channels at a given date & time
Display show details from any of the above lists.
Schedule individual shows to recording (i.e. “Remote Record”)
Cancel scheduled recordings
Delete existing recordings
Play existing recordings (on the TV, not the phone). Available in Home Mode only.
Note that the three 1-star reviews on the store are from when the 15.3 TiVo f/w update came out 1 week after I got this published the first time and stopped it working (check out the dates)! I’d be VERY grateful if you could put in a more positive rating/review if it now works for you. There is a “Review this App” link on the “About” page.

If it doesn't work for you, please email me or enter a ticket on the uservoice site (links on the About page).

It took me quite a lot of work, so I’ll be investigating “monetising” it shortly (e.g. put ads in and/or have a paid for version). Get it now while it’s free!

Thanks for listening! Enjoy!

Are you going to support other Windows 7 platforms?

I might do a Windows 8 app at some point, but I'm mostly concentrating on the phone at the mpment. I'm not sure if there's much point in a desktop windows app, is there? The Virgin TV Anywhere website is actually surprisingly useful, now! (I only recently noticed; it used to be rubbish.)

Feel free to enter a request at http://swythan.uservoice.com and get people to vote for it, though!

Sorry; I meant Windows 8 Metro. It sounds like the kind of app that might work well on a Windows 8 tablet. As I have neither phone nor tablet myself, I'm not asking for one; I'm just curious if you are only supporting phones.

In that case then the answer is "maybe". I'll probably concentrate on the phone app for now, but I might do one at some point. The programming models are similar, so mostly it's "just" creating a new UI.
