This has really tickled me, I can just imagine Lionel in all his cheesy glory and you cringing away. You poor soul!
Sorry but this is really funny purely for the excellent way you told it & for the fact I can understand how mortified you must have felt, I would've been the exact same.

I need to stop thinking about it otherwise I'll laugh all night!
Thanks for cheering me up!
I think what made the mortification worse was that we'd never actually watched the show - we caught the last five minutes and saw the prizes and my ex just sent a text - so we had NO idea that Lionel and this HUGE lorry were going to turn up. It was the Bullseye edition hence why the speedboat was one of the prizes.

My ex was actually surprised at work - all his family knew and kept it a secret - and I had the day off and then had a panicked call from his mother and nephew saying he'd won and they were coming to the house to film and I better put some make up on! I didn't believe them.

Then my ex called and said it was true (and could I cut the grass because they wanted to film in the back garden on said trampoline? ) but in his shock of it all, he said it was Lionel RICHIE coming to the house....so I had no idea who was going to turn up!

Not long after, Li B then appears up my driveway in a pastel blue suit with his initials in sequins on the black with a HUGE pair of shades on I have to say, he was really nice - a total lovie obviously - but I did call the girls at work to let them know and they begged to speak to Li and had him on speakerphone in the office. He was all "hello ladies...." and they were all shouting "GIVE US A DANCE LIONEL!!" so there was an impromptu burst of tap dancing on my driveway which was all a bit pointless as they couldn't see it!

I am part of a long running programme that updates after every seven years of mine and others lives, you may have seen it.
I love that programme . It really is fascinating watching all the characters develop and witnessing the changes over the years.Definitely a Water Cooler subject. It is hard not to have favourites though.
I'd advise you not to reveal any more though because there are strange people who like amassing posted information on forums for dodgy purposes. I hope you don't find that advice offensive, but it is meant kindly.

We swapped it for the cash

But afterwards, every time we passed any form of boat, he would say "that could have been us......!"

Appeared twice on a quiz show on ITV Digital (so no one saw me), appeared later in the background in a Noel Edmunds show when he was filming in the Manchester Arndale.

My grandma was on one of Bristol's news programmes years ago, talking about going to a book signing by Muhammad Ali. My brother recently commented that, had this happened in recent years, her statement to the camera along the lines "Well, I wanted to come and see him, so I did!" would've been mocked by Russell Howard on his Good News programme. I can imagine Russell doing so in his exaggerated West Country accent!

I was an Extra for five years, and appeared in London's Burning, as an MC in a boxing ring.

My best part was in The Bill, as a rapist who had my evil way with PC Gary Best, who was undercover in a seedy house. My character escaped and I thought that I would be asked back so that I could be caught, I did go back, but in a different role, as a prisoner mopping the cell floor. The Bill was definitely my favourite job, and I would have loved a regular role. It was a very happy set, and the Extra's had their meals in the restaurant with the actors.

I was also in the ajoining set to The Bill, which was at Deerpark Road in Wimbledon when I appeared twice in Family Affairs, when that series finished they used to use that set to film The Bill.

I was also in Holby City twice, and it was travelling all the way to Elstree that made me realise that it really was quite boring, once I had got over the novelty of seeing myself on TV. It would sometimes be two days of filming, and I might be on screen for about ten seconds. So after a bit on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, I gave it up, and I can't say that I miss it.

This story will help me through an otherwise boring day at work! Thanks

Many many years ago I was in a TV production about a farming family. Probably one of the first "reality" shows. I had my 15 minutes of fame

Won a quiz show (Think Tank) on Channel 4 in the mid-90s, appeared a number of times on Watchdog in the early 90s when I was a Trading Standards bod, had a fly-on-the-wall documentary about me screened only in Australia to preserve my anonymity and for my own safety when I worked on obtaining the first ASBO in the country.

My friend was on Deal Or No Deal and won a very large sum of money. I also know someone who was on Big Brother a good few years ago and got to the final.

nothing exciting here but my daughter was in the local news when her and some classmates met queen of the south footballers..
on a strange note..there was a guy with the same name as my husband who had sadly died in a Glasgow street (the guy not my hubby) and it was on the scottish news..I had a number of phonecalls that day asking where he was (hadn't seen the news) and I would say he was at the shops or at my brother's house..he had to phone round everyone later to prove he was still alive as they thought I was in shock
