After reading the thread title, I thought you meant they were dropping TWD altogether .

Kind of, but it's more like they've transferred it to a different channel rather than dropped it completely.

Doesn't everybody in the UK have digital TV now though? I thought the digital switchover prior to the Olympics ensured that? So everybody should have 5*.

Well I'm in ireland so I wouldn't know!
But you could be right.

More then likely this is bad news for season 4 though...they probably won't pick it up.

Episode 2 is on Monday night at midnight on Ch5. Looks like it's been bumped because of BB. Maybe it's a temporary thing while BB is on.

My Skybox has series linked to the new air date. It's showing as set to record.

5* killed Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy AND Archer in the UK, so yeah, not exactly a good sign, no one cares about this crappy channel and anything that gets put there that isn't Big Brother just dies.

That's right. I didn't mention 5* scheduling because you had covered it, sort of. That was lazy of me.

So there's no new episode on Ch5 this Sat night at 11pm, instead Ep 2 will be shown on 5* on Sunday night instead and then repeated on Ch5 on Monday night?

Why do 5 always have to mess with any and every US tv show. I'm getting bloody sick of it!

And they will be mystified when the viewing figures drop and then move it again. If they don't want to show it, then feel free to whack on more big brother and let me delete ur sorry, pixelated excuse for a channel. I can see why peoe are fast turning away from regular broadcast tv lol. Only themselves to blame.

Sons is aired on 5USA each new season....

Shame TWD has been shunted about in the schedules. Has it been aired later this year than in previous seasons? It never got moved about like this before.

Update Channel 5 have moved The Walking Dead to Sundays at 10PM on 5* due to poor ratings. New episodes will air on Channel 5 Tuesdays at midnight.

I am amazed they are messing about with this - luckily I've already seen this season elsewhere but surely a show as good TWD deserves more respect?

Is the above post right? So its not on 11pm on sat anymore? The new one is on tues with the repeat later that week on sunday?

Thats sounds worse than the current way of having it 11pm sat then 10pm sunday

I really am as well. I thought it had been doing OK for ratings from previous seasons, but maybe not

I can understand the schedule conflict with BB during the week and now on Saturday nights too (now that BB has moved from the 9pm slot), but it could be aired on Ch5 on Sunday night at 10pm, instead of on 5*.

Sorry, should have proof read my post.

Not quite, they will air first on 5* Sundays(beginning 7th July) at 10PM, then repeat the following Tuesday at Midnight on Channel 5.

Apparently episode 1 had poor ratings hence the change from Channel 5.

That's a shame. I imagine the poor ratings is due to people dropping out during season 2. Season 3 is a lot better - as that first episode illustrates. If C5 had kept their nerve it might have picked up viewers again.

I've got my Humax box set to record full series of TWD so I don't miss any episodes. I didn't realise they had shifted tonights episode till I read above quote! Just checked the scheduling and my box is set to record it on Tuesday 9th July at 12am (Monday 8th July Midnight). I assume it just tracks it even if it's shifted in the TV schedules.

It's only had one episode aired and they're moving it about in the listings already?! Unbelievable

... thanks for the updates peeps! ... can't believe they've messed further with the scheduling of this show! ... I've spent the past six months trying to avoid spoilers from US based numpties (not on DS) ... and now they've moved it to the middle of the night or 5* ... *sighs*

... honestly I don't think scheduling the first ep after BBBOTS helped ... especially with the two irritating new presenters they've dragged out of nowhere! ... BBBOTS ratings may not be suffering from annoying presenters, but it sure switched me off last week before TWD started, so I'm gonna have to re-watch it before the new ep tomorrow!

... guess the lack of the loud and annoying Rage adverts is another reason they were so easily able to shunt TWD into a different time slot after just one episode ... if they'd sold bumper advertising for it, they'd have had a much harder time moving it about the schedules! x

Urgh. It wasn't until I just looked on the Freeview guide that I realised TWD had been shunted to 5*. How poor of C5. I swear, whoever is in charge of their scheduling needs the sack; they've piddled BB around all over the show so far this year (including axing the live feed after just two weeks; putting it down to poor ratings after they put it up against the soaps *facepalm*). Now they've pushed TWD to 5*. What was wrong with the old slot they used before? Sundays at 11pm? (I think it was Sundays at 10pm for season one, followed by a horror film, but this was before they acquired BB). Honestly, BB is only on for an hour on Sunday evenings, there's not BOTS show because it's now in a Sunday afternoon slot, so surely BB at 10, TWD at 11, then a good horror afterwards would work quite well? I mean, this is how they did it last year (because BOTS was shown on 5*) so why not this year? I mean, the ratings must have been fair last year or they wouldn't have picked it up again. Seriously, they make me so angry. They destroyed Dallas too (though I never watched it, I'm not old enough to remember the original series) because they kept shifting it about and stopped advertising it once it began. That's another problem with 5. As soon as a show starts they drop all marketing for it. They just expect people to remember it's on and a lot of people just forget. They're just crap.

Luckily I've seen s3 elsewhere and I'll do the same with s4 (I'll still watch s3 on 5* but I'm not holding out any hope that c5 will pick up s4) I just feel for anyone that hasn't already seen it and will now be unable to view it for any reason and anyone who will miss s4 when c5 inevitably don't pick it up.

PS: Forgot to add, the thing that annoys me most about c5. They don't give things a chance. 'Episode one got poor ratings so we'll move it to our sister channel that no one even knows the channel number for because it's so bad.' Episode ONE. Do they not think that if they wait a few weeks people might realise TWD is actually airing? Lots of people might then catch up on Demand 5 and watch the new episodes as they air on the TV. But no, it doesn't even get a chance. Same as BB live feed. Two weeks and CHOP. What exactly are they gonna put up on a Saturday night at 11pm that will get higher ratings than brand new TWD (providing you've not already seen it via Sky etc or *hush*theinternet*shh.* Oh, yes, I forget. CSI repeats. Of course.

Ok, so Ep2 is NOT on tonight.

Instead TWD is now going to be shown Sunday nights on 5* at 10pm starting tomorrow night with Ep2. There will be a repeat on Monday nights at 12 midnight on Channel 5. Everyone got that?

I'll see you all here tomorrow night!

Oh this does annoy me, just switched over to see TWD and got Big Brother, what own earth are Channel 5 playing at? It was only by coming on here I found out what is going on. So after one whole episode they decide not enough people are watching and move it to a more remote channel so that even less people will watch it, yes that is intelligent thinking. Next move will be they take it off altogether. You can see how they get their well paid jobs, can't you!
I love this programme and will be furious if they ditch it.
