I haven't been well these last couple of days,so I decided to have a DVD marathon of one of my favourite actors.I like/own most of Fox's films,so I had a run of the Back To The Future trilogy,Teen Wolf,Secret Of My Success,Casualties Of War,The Hard Way,Doc Hollywood,Greedy,For Love Or Money, and The Frighteners.I think he's great, but it's been a while since I've watched his films, and never a marathon like that, and I was just thinking how much likability he had, almost effortlessly. It's a real shame what happened to him.I miss him in films and sitcoms.
Any other Fox fans, and what are your favourites of his?

He's also on a new show debuting this year, The Michael J. Fox show, about a newsreader with Parkinson's...
Preview trailer for this here:

He made a few appearances in Boston Legal a good few years back and he looked really ill. His storyline ended abruptly with no explanation and I feared the illness had got the better of him.
It's really great to see him doing so well
He was in a lot of fairly mediocre stuff, but he elevates the likes of Doc Hollywood, The Hard Way and The Secret of my Success.
He's great in Teen Wolf too*
*That's Teen Wolf too, not Teen Wolf Too.
No. No he won't.
He was playing a terminal cancer patient. Of course it ended abruptly.
Also noticed nobody's mentioned Spin City yet. He was excellent in that. Especially when Christopher Lloyd appeared.
Thanks,I'll look out for that.It has to be done well though I think. It could either portray Fox as too much of an object of pity,or make fun of the illness too much.Tricky territory.
Has any UK channel picked it up yet? Maybe Living?
And I re-iterate what everyone else says to BTTF4 - Just No.
And I Never want to be around to hear the words - "why don't we remake the original??"
Some Things you just DON'T tamper with. EVER.
I like his TV show when he was young............Family Ties
and later............Spin City
of his films I've seen Doc Hollywood...........and the one where he's an actor who rides with the police to get 'into the role'..........is it with James Woods ?
Is there another one where he's a smart office boy who rises up the company ?
I haven't seen the Back To The Future ones
Family Ties was terrific..............:D:D
WOW. You *really* need to see them.
The film with James Woods is The Hard Way.
To be honest, I thought that was awful, but it is nice just to see him again.
A fantastic vehicle to bring his talents back to the screen without his Parkinson's being an issue.
Any ideas what films of his are out on DVD?
Ive got the Back to the Future boxset.
Got Family Ties well S1 anyway. Couldnt find the others anywhere.
Thankfully that was several years ago and I've not heard anything since. I hope those plans have been abandoned, and whoever thought them up committed to an asylum...
Well I don't know where you live but I live in Leeds, and it's pretty easy to get most of his DVD's here. The likes of Doc Hollywood,The Hard Way,Secret Of My Success,Greedy,I got all of them from shops like HMV for around 4-6 pound.
Casualties Of War,and The Frighteners are easy to get but the extended cuts of these I got from Amazon at a great price.I've only seen the theatrical versions of these in HMV.
I've seen Teen Wolf everywhere but always on the same disc as The sequel which I hate.I got the Blu-ray of Teen Wolf on it's own from Amazon at a good price.
I don't like Bright Lights,Big City where he plays a cocaine addict with Kiefer Sutherland but I've seen that everywhere as well.
So just look around, most of them seem to be available easily in high street stores at great prices. If you've got a credit card,or you're able to get Amazon gift cards,I'd recommend Amazon.Great service at a great price, and the ones of his that are rare,I bought from them.:)
Sadly even on Amazon, the likes of Family Ties and Spin City only seem to be available on region 1 DVD's.
