Me too. Then they'll disappear back to either their London pad or their Sandringham estate, both of which we have paid millions to have renovated for them. That's a damned cheek in these times of austerity. They're really no better than the Romanian lot, the Ceausescus. They lived with marble floors, gold bath fittings, and every luxury money could buy while the peasants had nothing.
The Sandringham Estate is The Queen's private estate (as is Balmoral), and not part of Crown Estates . Apart from security (which we'd have to pay no matter where they lived) it costs the taxpayer nothing.

Wrong. The taxpayer has paid over 1 million for renovations at Kensington palace for The Cambridges and are also paying for all the renovations at their Anmer Hall pad on the Sandringham Estate. That will no doubt be a similar amount. How can that be right with both their families massive wealth.

Swear we only pay something like a 1 to the Royals per year? That's fine by me.

I can't understand the hatred for the royal family. They do their bit by bringing in the tourists as far as I'm concerned. Some people seem to make a blood sport out of slagging them off but I think there are more worthy targets to direct the bile at.

The only taxpayer funded renovations of Anmer Hall will be related to security

"It is believed the renovation work will be funded privately, and the couple may get help from Charles, who has private income from the Duchy of Cornwall"

There's a clip on YouTube of News at Ten annoucing the birth of Prince William. He'd been born less than an hour before at eight minutes passed nine. The clip looks so old fashioned now, yet it's not really that long ago in the scheme of things is it?
Here's the clip of Wills' birth announced on News at Ten.

I somehow think the revelation of Kate's birthing will be a little less low-key.

I have no problem with the Royals as human beings, it's just the concept of monarchy which makes no sense to me.

It'll likely be gone in a couple of centuries. Give it a bit of time, and let the dust settle after life peers are outlawed, then the second chamber becomes appointed, then elected, which will also likely be spread out over decades. We're a nation of mostly piecemeal reformers rather than revolutionists.

Why do people care about this horrible family?
They are a bunch of crooked, inbred, murdering scum who bleed the country dry.
It's about time we got rid of these leeches once and for all.
No one should have the divine rights these parasites have.

The argument we should keep them because they bring tourists in is a load of old bollocks. The people come to see the castles and the palaces. If we evicted these leeches from these places we could open them for public viewing bringing in more tourists and money.

Blimey, you might be better served directing your hostility at people who deserve it.

People forget William inherited 10 million from Princess Diana. I wouldn't have thought the Cambridges needed any financial help from Charles.

Do you really think they'd allow a future monarch to be born at an NHS hospital?
Surely it would be better for her to have the baby in an NHS hospital rather than face the possibility of having to pull over to the side of the road.

They deserve it. Why should we pay to keep them in their life's of luxury? What have they done to earn this privilege? Absolutely bugger all.
Why in this day in age can a Catholic not be allowed into this horrible family?
It's time to take the public purse away from them and let them stand on their own two feet

She left nearly 21 million, this was split two ways after 40% inheritance tax was paid , meaning he actually inherited
6, 483,011.00, still a lot but just being factual.

I wouldn't worry your head about her. She'll have airconditioning, dampened facecloths rinsed in rosewater, cooling fans, egyptian cotton towels, softened water face sprays, natural sponges etc etc.

This is no ordinary birth ................
Just like all the other private patients then

Hmm, not quite...

Prince William is set to inherit an estimated 10million from this mother's estate today as he celebrates his 30th birthday.

The milestone means he now has the option of taking control of half of a trust fund believed to be worth more than 20million.

Princess Diana bequeathed the trust to the Duke of Cambridge and his brother, Prince Harry, who were 15 and 12 at the time of her death in 1997.

Harry will inherit his share on his 30th birthday on September 15, 2014. Diana left a net estate of 12,966,022 after inheritance tax of 8,502,330 was deducted.

It is widely believed that with shrewd investment the fund has grown to around 20m.

The daily telegraph say that the renovations are being paid from the public purse. The royals are reported to be covering the cost of interior design though. Big deal .... That will be a couple of fleur de lys cushions and some tartan throws!

Can't do a link but its on there.

And half of 12,966,022.00 is exactly 6,483,011.00 what I quoted. I was responding to the inheritance in 1997 , not what is worth 16 years later. Now he has an inheritance + interest.

Indeed, we do seem to make the bigger changes very slowly (apart from Charles I).

All that matters is that he has 10 million in the bank. Not what happened in 1997 or how much was paid in inheritance tax to the nearest decimal point.

Just remembered why I avoid Showbiz!

I see so being factually correct is not welcomed any more ? tell me if you were left 1000 and years later it was worth 10,000 , what were you left 1000 or 10,000 ?

Peoples opinions of the Royals are up to them, but I see no harm in being factually correct if people are going to use it to slate them.
