At least she didnt call it Lowd (or even the actual word loud)or some variant
If she'd named him Ian Neil, he'd have been I N Hayler (Inhaler) !

Why didn't she hire a medical airplane to bring her home from where ever she is??

You hear of people being in far worse conditions and being flown home.

Its not like she couldn't afford it .

In the Mail (yes, I know Im sorry, but it has the best internet site as Im in France) the baby was born last week, and she has been out of hospital since Friday, so why has it only just been announced? Also, my daughter was only 10 days early but weighed only 5lbs 5ozs so her sprogs weight isn't that low. My daughter was only in Special care overnight, and I didn't even know what she looked like until I met her the following day. All I knew was that she had blonde hair. And now, she is 20 weeks pregnant with my first grandchild. Exciting times!!

she didn't even need to do that... a bilingual doula would have done the job nicely - she was in Marbella... there must be ex pat doulas there!

oh wait... here is one http://www.marbella-guide.com/support-for-new-mums/

experienced, bilingual, and has even helped care for a seven week premature baby... KP could have hired her !!! But then she seems to be watching the penny's right now!

If only she had spent 10 seconds googling eh!!!

To enlighten some of the posters on how premature babies can weigh 5lb. You will see on the 2009 link, quite a few mothers at 32/33 weeks, having 5lb plus babies.

Thanks Bunny, so the weight isn't anything unusual. I hope mum and baby are doing fine.

I don't think she could have got away with not saying anything to the papers, they would have got the story anyway themselves - but i'm pretty sure we won't be seeing this one running around in reality shows as her wishes can be fully upheld.

poor Katie and the poor baby, going through that.

Some non premature babies are really heavy, my sister was almost ten pounds when born at the normal time, so I suppose it's possible he's premature, but my gosh it does seem a heavy weight for eight weeks early.

The name does nothing for me, but I don't think there's anything I could pick at about it. A bit blah but not commonplace.

I posted his in the other thread too.....All 4 of my sons came before my due date - Number 1 and 2 were still classed full term but number 3 and number 4 were both classed as being premature. All the same Dad, so differences I had with the pregnancy and births weren't down to genetic factors.

Number 3 was 7lb - born at 35 weeks (and 1 day).
Number 4 was 5lb 12oz's - born at 32 weeks (and 2 days).

Although number 4 was a healthy weight, it didn't stop some of the issues that lower birth weight prem babies have from affecting him.
Hope Jett is doing well and that Katie can take him home soon.

I'm wondering whether as part of her column contract with the Sun she has to give them first offer's for stories?

I'm pretty sure that when she first got the column it was reported to be paying her a pretty hefty sum - and I can't imagine that the Sun would want one of their columnists giving stories to other rags or mags.

No idea though why they didn't run the story earlier.

Yes she could. She has the money and the contacts to do so.

Doula's aren't necessarily medically trained and I'm not sure what they would have been able to provide her with before or during the delivery - well nothing more than an interpreter could have provided anyway.
Doula's tend to be post delivery and help mum/baby get into a new routine - providing what parents/grandparents used to do when extended families all used to live with each other.
As Katie's baby is still in hospital I really can't see how a Doula would have made any difference for her ??

Doula's are pretty popular in the states - when my sister had her first child she had planned to have a Doula for 6 weeks - but she ended up driving my sister round the bend and my sister decided she couldn't cope with her anymore after 2 weeks.(decision based more on my sister's personality (control freak!!) than anything the Doula did wrong!)

Well y'know Nicola, apparently having kids who can appear gives a celebrity a bit of a leg up when it comes to getting reality series ... generate more content than the actual celeb does sometimes

Well, if that's the case she might just get offered one again.

Are you suggesting that if she does she will turn it down??

Pigs might fly.

So are you saying she had this baby to get "a bit of a leg up" to get a reality series Cyril? Or is this another dig about a certain ex of hers who has more telly time than her?

and you said she was very private about her kids

I suppose no photo shoots either if she is really genuine in what she says. However, the explanation of hiding the bump because she wanted to keep the pregnancy private proved to be untrue, it was simply to be able to provide/sell exclusive photos to the Sun.
