It is about time some of these so called celebs were convicted for their crimes. For too many who get 30 minutes in a cell or a couple of hours community service - just a bloody joke. We need to set our standards higher than accepting celebs going off the wall just because who they are.

Well it's all great PR if he wants to appeal to an edgier, older (maybe even more male) audience and leave his original fanbase in the dust.

The irony has always been that you'll have a longer shelf life these days if you're a pot-smoking, rule-breaking badass who's in trouble every five minutes than a sweet, wholesome cherub who twangs a guitar.

Someone's worked it out. And honestly, it's paying off for Bieber. He's morphing into someone who can be as bad as he wants and his dumbass fanbase excuse it, and also get a whole new 'street cred' reputation as a harder-edged artist. Have you noticed nobody's called him 'a girl' in some time now.

I think the whole world is insane though, tbh. Most of these stars and their people are insane. But it sells...

That don't make sense as most males think he's a joke and a **** ....smoking weed , drinking or shagging around won't endear him to males . He will never be cool

Indeed, I've no doubt at the start of this his people were keen to reposition him as a grown up, bad boy and start getting a more adult and male, longer lasting, fanbase - however, judging by what I've seen on line, the fanbase he's aiming for still think he's a joke, and a good majority are sick of the sight of him. There's no edginess there, which is what I think he and TPTB wanted, just an overall impression of a tiresome spoilt little boy acting out to get attention.

Miley Cyrus was giving him an advice on Jay Leno saying something along the lines that you can be outrageous and controversial without being a complete fvckvp

From what I can see he wants to appeal more to the r&b/hip hop audience but I still can't see it happening, no matter how many rappers he hangs around with. I don't listen to radio much these days, but I can't imagine his songs being played on urban radio at all.

They won't - yet. What he's doing is positioning/re-inventing himself as a rap type badass 'artist' with street cred because wholesome cherub didn't work, only had limited appeal.

It's a ruse in the hope of broadening his fanbase imo. It might be a vain hope but it's working in some ways as he's becoming quite notorious and the badboy press serves this image. The next step is music to match.

It might not work. But that's what they're aiming for imo.
