Either way, if they are guilty then they'd never have to pay a million though. That's ridiculous. Couple of thousands I'd understand, especially when you burned them on cd and sold them.

Plus, he can't do anything to those who aren't in US or UK. Europe has different view on copyright and different rules.

But it's true though? Isn't copyright more strict in UK and US? Especially US with RIAA

He dropped the legal proceedings, they got taken down. They will pop up again (they always do), as will footage of his forthcoming London shows.

Hence my "poor unfortunate us" remark.

According to an e-mail I received from Shaun Keaveny, presenter of the BBC 6 Music breakfast show, his music news journalist Matt Everett asked Prince about this story and Prince denied all knowledge.

According to the BBC, the case did exist but has now been dropped, with Prince quoted as saying 'Fans sharing music with each other, that's cool."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-26045864

Media lawyer Steve Kuncewicz had told BBC Radio 5 live that the action was essentially "going to war with his own fan base".

So who knows what really went on. I suppose the good news is that the little man - or those who represent him - have finally understood that bringing out the big guns to target fans is counter-productive.

I liked some of Prince's music, but I always thought in interviews that he acted like a right C U Next Tuesday....

Well sometimes he really pisses the fans off, and then sometimes he makes up for it, like wanting to charge 6.00 to see his live shows, can't see many artists doing that.

I'm waiting to get tix now. Just goes to show p loves performing for his fans and it's not just for the money. People like Madonna could learn a lot from him.

It's times like this I wish I lived closer to London. Hopefully he will do a UK Tour later in the year, or maybe just announce dates further in advance.

Prince is all about the live performance, and the only way to hear him and see actually how good he really is.

Yes me 2 I would need a babysitter as well, but if it had been an arena tour I would have taken her, as he has encouraged bringing children 2 his shows, it's just his aftershows and probably the smaller venues that may have a problem with kids.

From what I'm hearing, people were queuing from lunchtime and a few people were pushing in towards the end. Praying some decent venues will be announced soon. Some of us can't drop everything at the drop of a hat anymore

Did anyone see Prince on New Girl?

He was quite funny, liked the bit with the butterfly and the table tennis. LOL

Loads of fans upload performances footage a million times a day on You tube. I assumed money from fans wasn't an issue from Prince as his last two albums were available free of charge.

And a new song at the end "Don't u wanna fall in love", hopefully it will get a release and be on his new album...the catchiest Prince song in a while.

Also he didn't rule out Glastonbury, maybe playin with us though on that one...so come on P, bring on a proper UK tour and get this album out.

he got his lawyers to send cease and desists to media posting rumours about him playing glastonbury after repeated fake rumours year after year. he's not going to play glastonbury.

the new girl track is unlikely to be on the 3eG album too

and the tour is in and around London, it's a hit and run show, you aren't going to get much notice, and dates aren't going to be posted in advance like a regular tour. it's going to be surprise after surprise this month and a load of nonsense rumours too

you might have to wait in line in the freezing cold and rain for hours to get in, but the shows are fantastic. all out rock and roll with a touch of funk. no mucking about on stage. if you are lucky like me you may get to see him tearing up a guitar at arms length. there were many hardcore fans who had seem him several times, and many new young folk who had never seen him before, and although there were issues with the methods of getting in, there wasn't a single bad word said about the performances, and he did 4 shows in 24 hours jetlagged after coming off the plane

no gig is planned tonight, but it's worth a gamble to get down when you hear the word as i don't think anyone who turns up will be dissapointed.

oh and the two shows last night were 10 each. cheaper than the booking fee of many artists!

Not wanting to sound rude but how hard is it to get a babysitter? Is it because they are so expensive now?

Trust me if I was close enough to London, I would be waiting in line trying to get tickets. I have read various reviews, and they are all raving about his performances. Is there a better live artist on the planet? I highly doubt it, no fancy gimmicks just damn good music.

No love, not expensive but hard to get when the gigs are so short notice and you have no family nearby.

i couldn't find utopia on the map, but i bet you live closer to london than i do. you can get there by trains, planes and automobiles. there are only 3 weeks left in feb, you can go to london now and just bide your time and go when you hear the word

it's simple, just leave the kids alone at home and call social services to report them and they will take them away, feed and look after them. that's what you pay your taxes for

I was lucky enough to be at the second show in Camden on Wednesday night - have seen him a few times before, but Wednesday was just incredible. Seeing Price front a band like that, in a small venue like that so close up was just outrageous. Had to queue for three hours, but completely worth it.

If anyone is even thinking about trying to catch one of these shows, do it. I know his music has been a bit patchy for a long, long time (although there is still some great stuff lurking in there), everything you have ever read about how incredible he is live is 100% true.

Were you there on Wednesday Unique? Do you think there's anything more to the annual Glastonbury rumours this year? Have been to every Glastonbury since 2002, but can't go this year. He's talked about playing bigger venues as he goes, so that would be quite cool - starting at Lianne's flat and working all the way up to the Pyramid Stage in June!

yeah i was at both shows on wednesday night. and seeing as his lawyers sent cease and desist letters to media saying he would be playing glastonbury again, because he was sick of people profiting from his name being used to sell tickets, the chances of him playing glastonbury are zero to none. every year it's the same old rumour and he is sick of it
the current gigs are just for feb, and as for big gigs as it's a hit and run tour, so little to no notice of a show, the biggest gigs are going to be something more like 4,000 capacity. theatres rather than arenas
