Clifford seems to have given an interview of sorts with the DM today talking about Silverman's divorce settlement and how hard it is for Simon that he can't go near Silverman's other son.

Whilst I agree that it doesn't seem practical - I don't think it's right that Cowell and co have chosen to publicly air this again (with direct quotes from Clifford). I think they should keep it private and deal with it privately.

It also goes into detail about how Simon won't be near his son due to working commitments and they don't know how to work around it. I'm not sure what he was realistically expecting to happen?

Interestingly, it mentions that a possible reason there's no sign of wedding bells is because the happy couple can't agree on the pre-nup conditions

Saw Clifford's interview in the DM. What a work of fiction!

They had to do this to get a baby's passport I believe. Which sort of suggests that they're going transatlantic sooner rather than later. I bet it's private Cowell Air all the way now for Lauren and no slumming it in First like when she was pregnant and ocean hoping last year.

Course it is......Cowell World is hardly Narnia is it?

Even the joyful arrival of the purest thing in nature's armoury has been used as a media pawn by SC and his employees. Just read the fawning crap that's come out of Piers Morgan, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Max Clifford for starters. Jeez it's even more contrived than the bobbalox his so called friends and employees spouted when he supposedly found 'The One'.

You would've thought they learnt to keep their mouths shut after the last debacle / PR exercise.

Is it basically the filling out of the birth certificate?

More or less. But as I understand it it has to be done in front of a judge and with both parents present. There was a lot of speculation at the start of the pregnancy that Ms Silverman seemed very sure of the baby's paternity considering she was not separated from her husband at the time but I'm sure she knows her dates.

Well it suggests the baby is. Not sure what he will do with Lauren now. I guess a break up is on the cards in the not too distant future

I think she's going to be around for a while yet. His PR head knows he has to be seen to try and make this work for the time being at least. But how he squares that with his basic desire that Baby Cowell is brought up in UK, educated in UK, speaks like an Englishman and is under the watchful eye of SC's mother while she's still alive is intriguing.

But I give Lauren a couple of years yet. She's smarter than any of the others so far

I'm not sure they will break up tbh. He's getting good press for sticking by her so I'm not sure he'd want all the negativity if he walked away. It wouldn't surprise me if she stayed on the scene for a long while, even if it was just for show.

Well, at least there's one high-profile media outlet that isn't exactly "sucking Cowell's love muscle."

From TMZ:
Simon Cowell's Baby Mama Lauren Silverman: I Have a Resilient Vagina!

Forget the miracle of childbirth ... Lauren Silverman has a miraculous vag ... briskly walking through a department store 3 days after giving birth.

What makes it even more spectacular is that she's walking around in skintight leather pants.

Mind you baby Eric made his debut at 6 lbs 7 oz.

This is Lauren's second kid ... so maybe it's a little easier -- but still, she's a true champ!

mmm... c section/tummy tuck all prebooked for valentines day? All very convenient media coverage for him coming back to UK XF. The cynic in me still says there is something very odd about all of this

I guess the agreement is that she will be around for the baby's first year then leave him to daddy. That would explain the weird one year no contact thing with the other son- ex hubby knows about it and doesn't want his son associated with the whole sordid circus. Sensible man.

There's a picture in the Mail today (sorry) showing Cowell holding a dog and a bag while Lauren is holding the baby with one hand and a dog in the other!! Surprised that Cowell didn't take both dogs, she could drop the baby holding it with only one hand!

Looked incredibly stupid to me. Of course the Mail do not criticise

Andrew Silverman knows where the bodies are buried. Good for him for not just rolling over and having his tummy tickled by Cowell's cash. I like to think he knew exactly was he was doing with that three strikes and you're out contract.

Yeah, I saw that. I know sometimes things can look worse in a photo but I too thought she could have fallen down those steps.

But I guess they're too busy performing for the cameras.

Oh, I think that you're right on! Andrew has come out of this a very big winner. I'm guessing that he was very well paid to keep Simon's name out of the divorce. Lauren got very little money, Simon is responsible for supporting her and Andrew basically has custody of their son 90% of the time. The three strikes and you're out was brilliant!

Why don't they just go off and enjoy time with their new son in PRIVATE? I don't think people will forget about him if he does that for a few weeks/months? Why does he need to live his life through the media?

Because he is the vainest man on earth?

Yeah.

One of the posters in the comments section of that article posted that they thought he was trying to save his reputation in America by doing all of these photo ops but I was wondering whether he's even bothered about that now XFUSA has finished? Does he get the same coverage in the US as he does here? Is it likely he'll be back on US TV in the future?

The DM have posted a video - they look so awkward together. I'd hate that kind of attention and I wonder if she's starting to hate it also.

I agree, he needs to keep his son out of the media. I really don't know why celebs feel the need to share private moments with their children. If I had a child and was mega rich I would want them to have as normal a life as possible.

Yeah, seeing the circus--I mean latest DM article full of pics today, I'm not surprised Silverman wants to keep his son away from it all - imagine all the 'look, we're a happy family' shots if the other son was there? The paps aren't there by accident, and seeing the no. of people around the baby on the beach today, while Mum and Dad grin for the cameras - it's starting to look like a circus imo. I know Simon is a proud dad and good for him but the baby is barely a week old. He's a rich bloke, he could go on holiday anywhere he wants and somewhere private too but he seems to be treating this whole thing as a reality show.

To be honest, Lauren doesn't look too comfortable either in this new set of pics. She used to enjoy the pap attention but I think it has become too much. I really don't understand her. Her former husband wasn't exactly poor. She had a good and nice life. Now, she's strotting behind Cowell, has to divide her time between her two sons, etc.
