Ive a Samsung Galaxy Y which is running Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 as an operating system,is there any way i can upgrade the os without bricking my phone??:):):):):)
I think there is an update to 2.3.5 which you would be able to flash via Odin (google it). Anything else will require rooting and installation of custom recovery which could expose you to bricking your phone.
My advice to you is this, would you be OK to buy another phone today if you lost your Galaxy Y? If the answer is yes then go for it. If no then stay clear.

Just Google search it but unless your confident in what you are doing I'd advise against it.
