Will Skins USA be shown in the UK?

It's starting next month on MTV in the US, but I'm hoping it'll be shown here as well.

If it is shown I'd expect to wait a few months until after Series 5 has finished on E4.

Do you think MTV UK/E4 would want to show it?

Thanks

Apparently it's terrible, from what I've heard.

Bad or not, as the next domestic series is due soon the US one is unlikely to be shown until that ends.

Yep, Monday night my whole Facebook feed was filled with posts bashing Skins USA for being over-censored and unnecessarily changing the characters around, namely how they made Tony more of a buff jock type and the substitute of Maxxie for some girl. And that's the discerning Jersey Shore audience. The show'll be dead before the end of the season IMHO.

Is is bad bad or just worse than the original though - most yank viewers will be unaware it is a remake.

well now they're looking to censor it even more. That PTC over there is no joke. You think the daily mail is bad

most of the americans i've spoken to are aware of the original, a lot knew about it beforehand but quite a few downloaded the original pilot to make comparisons

Some busybody with to much time advocate group, have called for a Federal Investigation into the show as it they think it is pornographic for a kids tv show, the show is not kids TV it goes out at 9/10 pm in the US, and from what is reported is heavely watered down compared to the UK original, if this is the case these faux prudish outrage trawlers in the US would pretend to have a heart atack if they saw the orriginal.

Absolutely atrocious, the acting is really bad and they have savaged the original script, seemingly removing any humour. Avoid. :(

I wouldn't even want it to come here, I've seen some of it and they've literally done a carbon copy of scenes, dialogue of the original gang yet displaying half the charisma of them. No thanks.

I've seen the first episode and really enjoyed it. Whilst I prefer Sid/Cassie from our one and miss Maxxie, the rest of the cast seem as good as the UK lot, and it is still really funny. It did seem to be toned down a bit, and what little swearing there was was bleeped (at least the version I saw).

I think there are far too many people just saying it's crap because they liked the original, doesn't mean this one can't be good too. I don't expect it'll be AS good, but still very watchable.

I thought it was bad in that it's not Skins as we know it in the UK. It's watchable, though, and more interesting than 90210.

The broadcasters and suits don't. America is a very big place with a very diverse population, bit unfair to lump them all together.

    Seriously?

My main compliant was that Cassie was such a great character but they haven't bothered, the girl playing her in nothing like Hannah Murray and is barely there at all. The character of Tony is just boring in this, I hope he gets hit by as bus before the end :(;)

I'll stick with Pretty Little Liars :)

Problem is, it should have been made by a premium cable tv channel like HBO or Showtime... Then they could've gone all out with it. But its on a channel that has to comply with the FCC. Shame, I would have loved to have seen what HBO would have done with Skins!

Some of the American guys I know like the UK version and hate the US one.

I think people should give it a chance. Like Queer as Folk, the plan is to take on different storylines after a while. And the US version of QaF was amazing.
