Probably not rare, but definitely obscure. Didn't even get to watch it all as the film lasted longer than the flight back from Reykjavik, and there were several interruptions too.
Stranger by the Lake. Gay. porn. horror. Cumshot
Silkwood. Definitely not rare or obscure, but no one I ask has ever seen or heard of it.
In Her Skin. Based on a true story, very gripping film. I think it has another title too for Australian audiences.

I've seen Silkwood, I seem to remember Meryl Streep spending most of the film being scrubbed down in the shower. Is Cher her girlfriend in it?

Also saw Silkwood. Not a film that seems to get shown on any TV channel these days. But seems to be easily available on DVD.
I guess its one of those many films from the 80's that was very message heavy (Noocleer power is bad. mkay?), that it seems to have faded now as times have changed.
However...China Syndrome remains the daddy of all of those movies.
There was a short movie I saw once. It was on Channel 4 and was about a couple driving in the Scottish Highlands. He crashes his car. He dies and she amazingly has his had gasping her hand on the gear stick. The twist is that he is dead, his had is in rigger mortice around her hand and can't move it. She has to prize it off with a crook lock I think!

If you like obscure films then check out Talking Pictures TV which is testing on FTA at the moment - as I type something called The Big Game with Gary Webster is on. Looks terrible!
The Alf Garnett Saga
Murmur of the Heart
Shy People
Independence Day (1983)
Whatever Happened to Harold Smith?
Charlie and the Great Balloon Chase
SubUrbia (1997)
Is Knightriders (1981) obscure enough? Ed Harris leads a troupe re-enacting medieval tournaments on motorbikes instead of horses. George A Romero's non-horror film, although Stephen King has a cameo.
Good to see Come Back To The Five And Dime, Jimmy Dean getting a few mentions.
A similar film in as much as it almost filmed as a stage play with virtually all of the film taking place in one room is American Buffalo starring Dustin Hoffman.
There's a little known British film which I don't think has ever been on TV called Funnyman. Its a low budget film with a mixed bag of TV actors, comedians ( Rhona Cameron ) and musical artists ( Pauline Black ). The biggest name is Christopher Lee. I haven't seen it in years but at the time I thought it was amusing and would love to see it again.
Probably better known but not often seen is Glengarry Glenross. Excellent.

It is obscure, but I bought a nice Arrow Blu Ray of it recently.

Having rewatched the rather brilliant 'Bedazzled' yesterday (Yes, the Pete n Dud version!) I've been trawling my memory for other Sixties films, and one I remember watching and finding quite interesting donkeys years ago on TV was 'Work is a 4 letter Word' starring the estimable David Warner as a magic mushroom devotee and the not estimable Cilla Black. It appears to have completely disappeared from TV and doesn't appear to have had any release either. Unless anyone knows any different?
I know The Smiths cover of the theme, apparently one of the last straws for Marr before he legged it, saying something like "I didn't form a band to end up covering Cilla effing Black songs!" Which is fair enough.
There's a Girl in my Soup was on recently - it was just terrible. Sellers really did make some abysmal tat outside the Pink Panther films after about 1965.
Nothing but the Night
Scream and Scream Again
Would You Kill a Child?
Kronos
Earth vs. the Flying Saucers
Gog
The Maze
Unearthly Stranger
The Night Caller

A tv movie. I first saw it in about 1985 on ITV when the "Murder Mystery Suspense" logo came on the screen. Remember that logo.
Here's a few rare 70s and 80s horror movies.
Bad Ronald (1974)
Blood Harvest (1987)
Death Moon (1978)
Midnight Offerings (1981)
A Month in the Country with Colin Firth and Kenneth Branagh doesn't seem that well-known, considering the main actors. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093562/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
Spirit of the Beehive is another one I saw a while ago which no one I know seems to have seen.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070040/
And Burnt by the Sun
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111579/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
and Diva never seems to be on anymore.

Spirit of the Beehive is the worst Frankenstein film ever, the monster's hardly in it;-)
And Soon The Darkness was on The Horror Channel just last week.
Can often get the odd gem on that TV channel.
Amusing low budget horror film about a group of tourists set upon by an entire village. The band 10000 maniacs was named after the film !

'Role Models' (2008) is a very different film but I think the teenager's sub-story is entirely based on Knightriders.
The Millionnairess and The Party .
he plays an Indian in both , wonder if it's considered un p.c. now , then again Little Britain gets away with it .
.
I saw the Party on TCM a few years ago, not bad but very Tati-esque.
