Has anyone ever went on holiday alone? And if so what sites/agents do they use?

I'm looking to go away for 3/4 days while my husband is away on a course, I would be looking at Spain etc as its a short flight time, also All Inclusive.

Can anyone help?

I have been on holiday alone for the last 2 years. I found it impossible to get a holiday online for one. As soon as you change the number of people going to one, it says "sorry this holiday is no longer available". I now just go into the travel agent in person on the high street and its sorted immediately with no bother at all.

Companies such as Just You cater for solo travellers. single, divorced or those whose other half can't or won't travel.

You could always treat yourself to an extended Spa break...

I've never fancied a spa break to be totally honest.

    I'll go have a look.

We are going away later in the year, it would just be a wee break as he is away as well, if I could match his dates it would be even better lol.

Several times. I usually rent a cottage for a week - the more isolated the better.

Do you like to do active stuff or just relax. I'm sure there's quite a few things you could try. Prague is beautiful and you could probably do some exploring, go on a river cruise, take in some of the classical music concerts, etc.

There's always the option of seeing if there are any companies who do guided tours, etc.

    Just relaxing.

My ideal is sitting beside a pool for 4 days with my kindle and a cocktail.

Going on holiday alone is sometimes the start of a broken marriage.

I wondered how long till someone said something along those lines.

I would only be going if my husband was going on his course, as he is getting wined and dined in a nice hotel for 4 days by his manager, so why should I have to sit in the house by myself for the same length of time?

I was only saying, I just have visions of that series where that middle aged woman went on holiday by herself to have a fling...........rekindling her lost youth and stuff like that.

It doesnt mean that you will be doing that.:o

    I'm only 28 :eek::eek:

I probably wouldn't go, but it would be better than sitting in here myself.

I've been looking at prices, and husband is quite happy for me to go, but I do know I'd probably chicken out and want him to come lol.

I do it all the time. Got back from Tenerife just a month ago, lovely, sunny and peaceful ^_^

Next up - I dunno, but usually I book through booking.com and skyscanner.net for the best deals. I don't bother with packages as they're aimed at couples/families, and penalise single people.

A friend of mine always goes on holidays alone. He like Symi in Greece and is there right now on his latest trip.

If I was to go I'd prefer a package. So I know a travel agent, she might be able to get me a deal.

However I do doubt I would actually have the courage to go alone.

Why? as long as you stay in the west your be fine. Why not go Gibraltar? Nice weather with hints of the UK.
