DVD Player Wont Turn On

i had a power cut while watching a dvd and now the player wont turn on, also trapping a new dvd inside.

i have tried turning it on and off a few times and leaving it for a while to hope something happened lol

its an LG, so if it is knacked is there a way of getting the disc out?

Have you tried powering it down completely by pulling the plug and then plugging it back in?

i tried it this morning and it just started working again without me doing a thing lol
