The juggernaut keeps on rolling. What she is doing in the current era is extraordinary.

“We are thrilled to honor Adele with an RIAA Diamond award marking her enormous 21 sales success. Selling more than 10 million albums in the United States, in less than two years, is an achievement unparalleled by any other artist in the past decade, let alone just a few in all of history. Adele’s unique talent is a gift to music fans, and her success is certainly cause for a celebration of Diamond magnitude.”
Cary Sherman, Chairman & CEO, RIAA.

As far back as 2008 Billboard called it that she would be huge. Fair play to her.

Well okay than after 4 weeks, but it has been out for 5 weeks already so it should be at around 2 million now

And Red has now sold well over 3M worldwide

On it's way to the 20 million you predicted GL? We aren't talking current worldwide total here (although 21 is inching closer to 27 million according to Music Charts).

Those numbers above are accurate for BB year end calendar.

19 also finished as the #1 Billboard pop catalog album with sales of 887,000. Whitney Houston's greatest hits was 2nd w 856k.

    top five pop catalog albums:

    01 - 52 - 887 - 19 - Adele
    02 - 35 - 856 - THE GREATEST HITS - Whitney Houston
    03 - 50 - 295 - BROTHERS - Black Keys
    04 - 51 - 285 - LUNGS - Florence + the Machine
    05 - 45 - 269 - GREATEST HITS - Guns N'Roses

No. The chart year has already ended. Billboard just take a few weeks to release it. I think we're already in maybe the 2nd week of Billboard's "2013".

Anybody know what the Hot 100 top 5 is yet? I'm predicting something like:

    1. Gotye/Kimbra - Somebody That I Used to Know
    2. fun./Janelle Monae - We Are Young
    3. Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
    4. Kelly Clarkson - Stronger
    5. Maroon 5/Wiz Khalifa - Payphone

Same subject, from Chart Watch Extra:
Adele's 21 is set to become the first album to wind up as the year's best-seller twice since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales for Billboard in 1991. The album has sold 4,255,000 copies so far this year. It sold 5,824,000 copies in 2011. It's one of only four albums in the Nielsen SoundScan era to sell 4 million or more copies in each of two calendar years. It follows Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill (1995-1996), Shania Twain's Come On Over (1998-1999) and Santana's Supernatural (1999-2000).

Even though it's in its second year of release, 21 has sold more copies this year than the best-selling albums of 2006 through 2010 did in those years. The album spawned three #1 hits, "Rolling In The Deep," "Someone Like You" and "Set Fire To The Rain." It won six Grammys in February, including Album of the Year.

A bit off the topic, but also an award:
NEW YORK -- Though Adele didn't have a new album or a worldwide tour in 2012, she's still rolling. After a year of Grammy glory and James Bond soundtracking, Adele has been voted The Associated Press Entertainer of the Year.

In 132 ballots submitted by members and subscribers of the AP, Adele easily outpaced other vote-getters like Taylor Swift, "Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James, the South Korean viral video star PSY and the cast of "Twilight." Editors and broadcasters were asked to cast their ballot for the person who had the most influence on entertainment and culture in 2012.

That's an amazing achievement for Adele.

Although off topic, I'm suprised Michale Buble is 2nd.
