I see Rhod Gilbert is described as 'comedian' on the BBC Wales website.
A mistake , surely?

I find him hysterical. Seen him three times now and his interaction with the crowd and his put downs to hecklers has me in stitches.

I've seen him on Live at the Apollo, and though I thought he was funny, I wish he wouldn't SHOUT SO MUCH! ;)

I think it may be his nerves at recycling some old Peter Kay airport jokes.:(

I can assure you it's not.

Why don't you contact the Beeb and maybe they'll give you your own show, like him? Because your OP comment was hilarious, and so original. How did you come up with that?

    A good idea.
It would be certainly more entertaining than some guy shouting out old Peter Kay gags:)

Oh that's right, Peter Kay invented Llanbobyl.

And remember all those old sketches Peter used to do about service station mince pies and entertaining the troops in Afghanistan?

Maybe you're a lot older than me and can therefore recall older Peter Kay jokes than I can, but from Pheonix Nights and the stand-up DVDs of his I've seen, I can't see any correllation between Rhod and Peter's jokes.

Russell Brand did a section on his first DVD about luggage at airports. So did Lee Evans. Just because the same subject matter (but not the same jokes) are used, doesn't make it any less funny.

I've seen him twice - all locally, which has been great. The third time will be on Fri Feb 19th , again, local - very much looking forward to it! :) I like that he's genuinly funny without having to resort to being foul-mouthed, using lame gags, and repeating tedious stories from the press!

he is on BBC wales tomorrow night 10.35 doing work experiance - spray tanning. I saw his show last week where he looked after 7 kids for the day whilst the mother had a day off. It was a bit manic he said he had to take to 2 kids to school to pick up the other three and make sure he came home with 5! It wasnt a bad show.

I find him rather amusing, although I could do with him shouting a little less. And I quite like his BBC show doing work experience.

Why can't he be funny to people in other countries besides Wales?

Evidently, not everyone on this thread who has said they like him is Welsh.

    Yes.
    But not compulsory.

    Of course not.

Perhaps he is better after a bevvy or a blast of laughing gas.
His podcast is certainly a humour-free zone. :(

What comedians do you rate, and why? Give reasons.

Why would you waste your time watching his pod cast if you don't like him.

I think he's funny, I'm not Welsh or have any Welsh ancestry either.

Entirely irrelevant as to whether he is funny or not.
