Hi
I am looking at buying a lcd hdtv, some say HDTV Compatible and some say HDTV Ready, what is the difference,is HDTV Compatible an inferior picture?
How does a HDTV Sky box connect to a hdtv,is it via dvi or hmdi input or is it via a scart socket as some lcd hdtv's only have 1 scart socket so i need to know in advance.
any help would be appreciated,thanks

That is a manufacturers specification that supports all current and upcoming needs both for broadcasting and pre-recorded sources.
HDTV Ready & HDTV Compaible displays lack at least one of the important festures to future proof your purchase, it may be a connection or something more extreme like resolution, beware unless you know exactly what you are buying and can work around it.
The first generation SKY+ HD can send a HD channel via it's HDMI output or analogue Component output. The scart sockets on the box will carry either native SD channels or down converted HD channels to a TV or recording device.
