At what age do people stop being interested in sex?

I've been on this forum for a few weeks now and I've seen posts from people who dont seem to be interested in sex anymore. The bloke who lives next door to me is 50 something and he just dont seem to be interested in women sexually. Now my dad is 50 odd but he is not like the bloke next door at all as my dad loves sex and women so I'm confused.

So I'm wondering, does there come a time in a mans life when he is not into sex anymore or is it just some blokes?

Most men IMO stay horny well into their 70s, sometimes even older!

Knew an escort who had a client die on her once, 89 years old, attempting to pump away from behind and his life just ended, there and then

Women can too but many go off it, either after they've had kids, after being married to the same overweight crap in bed douche for 25 years, or when they hit the menopause

biology really, sex is for babies, men can always produce sperm (well, until they're practically dead), women can't have children after a certain age and many simply lose their drive once they've had all the kids they want

I think it can depend on the person some may never be interested or go off it very early like in their 20's on the other hand look at Hugh Hefner in his 80's and still more interested than most people

It's normal to stay interested I imagine, abnormal to lose interest - probably due to some physical condition or some kind of depression perhaps.

Well i'm 42 and it's not something that particularly bothers me really. I suppose for me, it's more of a case of you can't really miss what you've never really had (..that much of..).

You just have to read mumsnet to see the amount of women who no longer want sex with their husbands, then are gobsmacked when after 5 years being starved of touch and affection he dares to seek a bit of fun and the feel of a womans body!

Yeah my granddad was like that. even made me put a porno on for him once because he didnt know how to work the VCR.

Your last paragraph was interesting and another thing ive often thought about. Do you think men where designed to be monogamous?

LucianB imo some men are, some men arnt

theres many men who wouldnt dream of cheating, but theres absoloutely loads that cheat regularly and their OH's know none the better

I'd say it depends on the individuals sex drive as imo theres plenty of women who arnt designed for monogamy too

I think every man atleast looks at or admires another woman (more likely several) in his time as an attached bloke, its a given really and even I notice a hot woman! (man not so much, I have a weird taste in blokes and hate typical 'good looking' men)

i suppose it depends on how you want to define "go off sex" really. If you consider it having zero sexual urges or impulses and basically becoming asexual, or if you just go off wanting to have it and become celibate, but you still have urges towards the opposite sex.
