A quick question on game shows that are filmed in batches maybe two or three an evening, do the celebrities all sit and wait and watch the other recordings or turn up just before they are due to film?

I just don't know if some celebs would want to sit through two recordings to wait for there appearance on the third.

Thanks for the guest list, Robert. Could you provide one for Give us A Clue, too?
Sorry, only just seen this message. I have attempted a Give Us a Clue listing, but found it rather more difficult and is far from complete - for one thing, I compiled much of the Blankety Blank list using old Radio Times issues, but I don't have the equivalent TV Times copies. I'll post what I have in a new thread is there is enough interest.

Meanwhile, it appears Challenge have now also bought up Series 1 and Series 4 of Blankety Blank, and will be showing the first episode as part of 'Challenge's First Ever Episode Christmas' on 28-29 December, so lots more to look forward to!

Thanks for the list!:) There appear to be 2 episodes a week at the moment (unless im missing some!), and given the length of the list we are in for a long run. Or have Challenge only bought selected series? I hope we see them all - I love Les!:)

I wonder why ITV made those extra episodes in 2002 but they were never broadcast and they were premiered on Challenge 9 years later...?
Series 16 went out early on Saturday evenings, and presumably must have been flopping in the ratings for ITV to dump it before all the episodes had been shown. I noticed that when they were shown in 2011, that the credits style on these 8 episodes was different to those in the earlier Series 16 episodes, using the generic style introduced by ITV in October 2002, but they must have been recorded in early 2002 at the latest, because one of the episodes featured Christopher Price from BBC Choice's Liquid News, who sadly died in April 2002.

I'm assuming we'll just be seeing Series 7 from the Les Dawson years at this point, but as I mentioned above we should also have Series 1 and 4 from the Terry Wogan era before long. :)

Thanks. Shame about the Les episodes, but it may mean we savour them that bit more!:p Less of a fan of Wogan but will still take a look!

Though Challenge have shown all the Dawson series before (though it is a long time since they last did)- I don't recall them ever showing any Wogan episodes until now though!

BBC One was showing Blankety Blank - the Wogan years, a few years ago and I think Terry even introduced them.

A very pregnant Sandra Dickinson on the episode I saw last night ...I wonder if the bun in her oven turned out to be Georgia Moffett?

Last night's seemed terribly under-rehearsed. In the Supermatch Game (Supermatch Game! Supermatch Game! Supermatch Game! ... Supermatch GAME!!) , the contestant got her three answers from the turns, and then asked Les for his as well! Cheeky mare!

Gloria Hunniford must have shares in the show or something, she was never off it, and even appeared two 'weeks' in a row. I can't stand her voice either. This "half NI half English all posh" thing she does is really grating.

Some appeared two in a row I suspect the other celebrity pulled out or they just were just available for filming on the night.

Les did a joke last week with one of them that they were back again after appearing last week can't remember which one it was it was the woman sat on the right on front row.

Les Dawson was a very funny and talented comedian - no doubt about that. However, on BB he often seemed like a dog on heat if a pretty female contestant appeared. You could literally see him drooling and lusting after them, insisting on touching and kissing them at almost every opportunity with his sweaty upper lip going into overdrive! I'm sure other people must have noticed this unseemly behaviour,

Have you not watched Bob Monkhouse on Family Fortunes kissing all the women, it was perfectly acceptable in the 80's in the same way the gay jokes in last night's BB were fine and in my opinion still are.

I hate modern day thinking everything is offensive what is wrong with a man fancying a nice looking woman for God sake.

"My brother went to a gay weekend in London but was disappointed when he found out Big Ben was a bell"

"One of those gnomes is a fairy beware"

People of the country stop being offended and get on with your lives.

The BB repeats continue to brighten my day!

"You've won nothing. And you're lucky even to get that".
"Don't worry. The worst that can happen is that you win something".
    Les Dawson is SO funny!

(However did Duncan Norvelle get a career though?)

Didn't he die in his sleep at home?

On 10 June 1993, at a hospital in Whalley Range, Manchester, Les Dawson had just finished a check-up for insurance cover for a film role and was waiting for the results with his wife when he died suddenly, suffering a heart attack.

Oh I thought he was at home after the check up and died in his armchair, his wife found him dead. I can't believe it was 20 years ago!

I loved Les, some of the faces he pulled and voices he did made me laugh. I liked his John Wayne impression :D

Yes, I thought he died in his sleep sat in his armchair.

I think Georgia Moffett was an only child, till her dad had children with thingy out of Watching! So it probably was Georgia, Sandra Dickinson was pregnant with, when she appeared on Blankety, Blank.

The repeats continue to bring joy and delight to the Chuff household. Les Dawson is effortlessly engaging.

(There was a Les best-of clip show on Gold t'other night, and a new household catchphrase was coined ... "Well that's ruined Florrie's cream lagoon!")

My 18th birthday! I remember it well.
(Just about the only bit of my 18th birthday that I do remember).

Bernard Bresslaw died the next day. :(

    Lorraine Chase again :D

I used to think Sabina Franklyn was really pretty, wanted to look like her when I saw her in Keep It in the Family.

Lorraine Chase - a series regular throughout Wogan and Dawson years.

Also wonder why Challenge do not show Wogan years of Blankety Blank? Is Sir Terry blocking repeats?

They've recently bought Series 1 & 4 of the show, so you'll be seeign Wogan soon enough.
