No offence to the artist but it just looks exactly like a TinTin book cover. I was expecting something a lot more original than that.
Don't think there's much skill on display given his other work.
I think the idea with the Tintin one was to take the Tintin movie posters and translate the format of their design back into the original Herge style.
But I agree with you that the meaning gets a little lost and I don't think it works terribly well as a movie poster. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy on the other hand...
Dont see the point in any of these ...
Whats wrong with the original movie posters ? 100 Times better than these rubbish plain ones
Strongly disagree with that, most of the time images used on film posters aren't even from the film, and are quite obviously staged for promotional purposes (The Adjustment Bureau, I'm looking at you), which immediately takes me out of the experience before I'm even sitting down in the cinema!
These Polish ones however are thoughtful and often funny, while at the same time containing very little detail, very clever design.
I have a suspicion that this is the best poster so far and will appeal to all fans of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (and even those who though it was boring and/or confusing)!
