still viable for all 3 couples have 4 points for the final
Yes they could all have 4 points but then the two with 3 points and 2 points from the public go through and the one with 1 point from the public leaves.
In the event of a tie as you have pointed out then the public vote is more important than the judges so the couples with 3 points and 2 points from the public go through. Thats the way its always been in the vote.
so what happens if the judges give ricky and ali the same amount of points meaning they will give them both 3 points meaning it will be impossible for chris to go through with the public vote like they did last year
If theres a tie, the public vote takes predicent. Sort of like how in the first part of last years final, Tom and Lisa were tied with 4 points, but Tom went through as he had more public votes.
There's absolutely no way for anyone not to get into the final this year, because the person in last place can still finish second, even if the top two get equal judges scores.

Theres no dance off, so finishing second in the combined leaderboard, which is the most Tom could do last year would be enough to get into the final.
The problem last year was that Tom was never going to be able to escape the dance off, as it was mathematically impossible for him to get into first place, where he needed to be to not be in the dance off.

Nope. If we assume the same public vote as above, Ricky will have 4, Ali will have 5, and Chris will have 5 - ergo Ricky goes.

NEWS: No dance-off in the Semi-Final. The couple with the lowest combined score from the public and judges will leave the contest.
So NOT a 3 person final.

Ali 2 with public and 2 with judges
Chris 3 with public and 1 with judges
Ricky 1 with the public and 3 with the judges.
Then Ricky goes because he has the lowest public vote.
Well, it's always been that the public vote outweighs the judges in Strictly, so in that circumstance, Ricky would be out.
