Nicole reads them. She even has a spat in one article moaning about the people who criticised Rex's behaviour on the forums, saying they didn't understand him or realise that he is just an insecure guy.

I think the forums played a massive role in BB this year.

I've yet to meet a single voting casual viewer (and I meet a lot of people) who wasn't astounded that Rachel won.

My guess is that the voting numbers were low and that gave forum support the chance to swing it.

Well they didn't listen to posters saying " NO MORE F**KING COUPLES!!!!" did they?

You will have Mario and Lisa
You will suffer Bex and Puke.
You will have Rex's girlfriend forced upon you.
You will have Mario back again......

They never got the message on that one!

I think Zezi was removed because she wasn't good. I don't think the forums have a look in.

The dislike for Zezi on the forums were more comical than analytical - I mean it was just a bunch of people being venomous to an individual en masse, which nobody would take seriously.

Question is, did all the nastiness that was written about Zezi on the forums affects her even more and more?

The forums could also be "used" to spread an opinion.

There are all sorts posting here.

As one of the regulars on both the aforementioned Zezi thread, and the subsequent thread about George, I can tell you that there was actually very little venom, mostly constructive criticism. We actually rather liked Zezi and had a lot of affection for her, we just thought she was a hopeless presenter (and she was). It also became quickly clear that at least some attention was being paid to what we said, as a number of our suggestions were taken on board, often within a day or two of them being mentioned. It could well have been coincidence, but it did happen a number of times. The George thread never had the same kind of influence, mainly as it quickly became a sort of slightly skewed and extended appreciation thread, with a little conversation thrown in.

I agree about Rex and Nicole and Mario and Lisa. But you can't blame them for Bex and Luke forming. I've got no problem with a couple forming in there, but putting one in already formed is a stupid idea which we did indeed protest against.

I don't think the forums have any effect. Just because someone's contract is changed, doesn't mean it's because of these forums. Television contracts are not long term, and change regularly.

Also, the newspapers, (or tabloids), are not affected by these forums. Rather, the forums are affected by the tabloids in a very big way.

Zezi was removed because she was just not good at her job and time-keeping.

IMO the forums only represent a small number of the voting public

The papers love to look for a scandal and look at the news reports on the C4 site, DSBB and others, lazy reporters take these reports as gospel, but as to some HMs cost these reports can sometimes be wrong and are only corrected by posters who HAVE watched live feed but its then to late too correct the newspapers, they also look at threads where maybe only one side of the story is told and other information is ommited

Then we have the 'warriors', these can be a small amount of supporters who feel aggrieved on the part of their favored HM, they pick up a point concerning their fav and start thread after thread (sometimes wrongly sometimes rightly) about these points and build on them until support starts to snowball

If their favoured HM is slighted or wronged in anyway and a satisfactory outcome is not forthcomming email adresses are posted and then the 'warriors' bombard Ofcom, Newspapers and C4 until they get the outcome they want

After previous scandals on BB, C4/ Endemol now have to bow to the 'PC' crowd or face the wrath of the 'PC Warriors'
which IMO will result in HMs who dare not/ will not act themselves for fear of being evicted

In other words a boring BB

I distinctly remember, a day or two after the George thread was started that he was doing a link about the internet and he stopped and said "yes, we do read the forums, guys" to camera. I could be wrong, but I assumed that he was making reference to that thread. It certainly seemed that way.
Also, the newspapers, (or tabloids), are not affected by these forums. Rather, the forums are affected by the tabloids in a very big way.

The Daily Star certainly is. They take not only quotes but whole stories from threads on here. All the tabloids do to a greater or lesser degree.

I remember last year when something was going on (I really can't remember what) where a thread was being constantly updated. By a huge coincidence, the Daily Star Bgi Brother blog was also being updated - usually about 5 minutes after the thread, with whatever information or theory was currnetly in the thread. Some of the people who were contributing to the thread started calling the journalist responsible lazy and saying that if he was going to steal other people's research that he should at least credit them with it.

The next blog update had a cheeky shout out to the members of Digital Spy at the end.

There's no question - the tabloid journalists do read this forum and it's not unheard of for them to print stories off unsubstantiated rumours as if they were factual.

The reason Zezi was demoted was more due to ratings and back feedback sent directly to Channel 4, Endemol and through the tabloids. Once Zezi was demoted, ratings doubled. I wouldn't say it was much to do with this forum directly, but more to do with tabloid articles and feedback, as well as her own personal conduct (not bothering to turn up etc).

What exactly was Zezi demoted to? I know she wasn't in the studio of BBLB much at the end but, didn't think her official role had changed xD

I left out who Sara got with as there wasn't enough space in the DS database!

Must be a "London t'ing' but......

I have yet to meet anyone backing Rachel - biggest support I have met was for Darnell, followed by Mikey followed by Rex - seriously

in fact five thought rachel was Sara!!

So the vocal support I have seen has been on the various forums...I am sure they swayed things...

there just arent that many people in Wales!:D

I like the couples! "Boy-meets-girl... then what happens?" is a fascinating part of human dynamics and interaction. It reveals and develops character and, for me, is a vital part of BB.

    Mel-Tom, Paul-Helen, Jade-PJ, Alex-Adele, Kate-Spencer, Scott-Nush, Michelle-Stuart, Jason-Vanessa, Craig-Anthony, Maxwell-Saskia, Anthony-Makosi, Grace-Mikey, Nikki-Pete, Ziggy-Chanelle, Brian-Amanda, Dale-Jen, Luke-Bex have all been compelling viewing, for various reasons.

I asked in school today, risked letting the other teachers know I was a fan and all that

One of my colleagues liked Rachel too, said she was just lovely. I would love to see her in the house, but she said she would have swung for the whisper club and rex lol

Judging by the landslides we've had this year in the evictions (Alex, Sylvia, Jen and Nicole), I would suspect the forum has a greater role in BB. Clearly no one is voting, so our opinion here matters more.

Did you actually read the zezi thread? If you did you will notice that all the regulars pulled anyone up who attacked Zezi personally.
As a poster in that thread I strongly object to being called venomous!

The more influence the forums have the better.

They are the ones that know what is really going on.

Not always because often the reporting is slanted depending on which HM a forum member favours and which HM they see as the biggest threat to their favourite

And results in 24/7 of people slobbering over each other and no one else gets shown.

People can get a porn tape for that and leave the show to get on with other things. That or a pathetic Mills and Boon novel.
