Who are the longest serving sports presenters on UK TV who are still at it to this day and how many years have they done it for

Richard Keys has been at SKY for 20 years and he is still going strong

And then of course there is the legendary Jeff Stelling whose Soccer Saturday has been running for 12 years

I had known about SocSat all that time but only got round to watching it every week in the middle of last year

I wish I had listened to all those football fans saying how good it was a lot earlier

Steve Rider springs to mind. He must have been going a while. Possibly Lynam. I haven;t seen him for a couple of years though. Did he retire? I'm sure he could do a job somewhere.

Aren't some of those mainly commentators. They may have done a bit of presenting but it's not what they are known for.

    Brough is definitely a presenter.

As is Sue Barker, who's been at it (presenting) since 1990.

Jeff Stelling presented a sport programme on BSB before Sky, about 20 years ago.

I think David Gower first hosted cricket on Sky back in '93 (when England toured India and he'd not been picked).

Does Richie Benaud still host the Channel 9 highlights down under?

Brough Scott hasn't presented since the 1990's.

Derek Thompson is still going strong though. No idea when he started but as long as I can remember - sometime in the 1970's?

(edit : seems he started on ITV in 1981, nearly 30 years, impressive but I'm sure not the longest in the business).

Hazel Irvine has been around for a long time.

She seems to look better the older she gets. Weird.

Thizarrrfternoon I checked on Steve Rider's biography thizarrrrfternoon and it seems he started on World of Sport in the late 1970's.

He's still presenting Touring Cars, so he seems to be in the lead.

    Thizarfternoon.

Alan Hansen has been around since the formation of the Premier League on Match of The Day and quite frankly approximately twenty years too long.

Ray French has been commentating on the Beeb's Rugby League covering for decades now. He's been useless for nearly all of that time, but he suits the BBC's desire to keep RL down.

Still alive and well and turning up at various race meetings. He's also very active in fund-raising for injured jockeys.
