The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

I'm about halfway through and am torn between wanting to keep reading and not wanting it to end! It's a fantastic book, completely magical- I think it might end up being one of my favourite books ever.

Working my way through all 12 of Dennis Wheatley's 'Roger Brook' series. First one was terriffic,I read it once when I was young;second one is (so far) hard work! But I know they improve,as I have read another two or three of them, way back!
Nice to tackle the entire series at one go though, complete!

Just finished The Life by Martina Cole, which was very good. Don't know whether to start Dominion by C J Sansom, or Accidents Happen by Louise Millar.

Half way through, Styxx by Sherrilyn Kenyon. about 100 pages too long with repetative scenerios, and all kinds of abuse, it is a bit wearing, :( but l will stick with it.

Just finishing The Shape of Water by Andrea Camilleri (Inspector Montalbano) which I loved, next up is Ken Follets Fall of Giants which weighs in at a daunting 850 pages!

Just finished "Far North" by Marcel Theroux (brother of Louie Theroux).

Post apocalyptic science fiction but more in the style of a western (though it's actually set in the north of Russia). Might be a bit slow paced for some, but I found it very readable, full of interesting ideas, with some unexpected plot twists along the way.

I've been reading Kiss the Dead - Laurell K Hamilton's 21st Anita Blake novel for weeks now. I don't know why I've bothered to persevere because the later books in the series really are quite poor.

I've made a start on two new books.

My new audiobook is The Ocean At The End Of The Lane, written and read by Neil Gaiman. It's shaping up very well so far, a pity that it's such a short book.

My Kindle book is Dead Simple by Peter James, the first Roy Grace book. Very promising, hopefully it will be a good new series to get into.

Have finished this now. I don't usually go for this type of book anyway, to be honest, but I did find it annoyingly cliche.

Anyhow, I'm moving onto David Jason's autobiography next.

Red Rising - Pierce Brown. I received this advance review copy from a Goodreads giveaway and only started tit this evening and up to now its wonderful. The main character is one you really root for without being a Mary Sue (or whatever the male equivalent is).

It feels weird reading an actual book, I'm that used to my ereader.

Tom's Midnight Garden - Philippa Pearce

YA Classic. Captivating, engaging and magical and a lump in my throat, at the ending.
