    Sharon Small did it.

Biggest guest star / actor .

if true ..programme is a waste of space appart from scenery.

Isn't it her who was in the second Pirates of the Caribbean film?

    Edit - No, I've decided it's not.
    Pardon me.

Well, that was a thoroughly enjoyable episode! I really liked that, good fun (I guessed it had something to do with the painting) - Regardless, it was a good one :-)

I am enjoying this more and more. KM is doing well, I reckon and the rest of the cast have really grown into their roles. Fidel especially has really come on.
Moreover, the sunshine is very welcome in these dismal days, and I guess somebody at the BBC must have read DS because the lizard that is so loved by so many of us really has a major role now! :D

Good episode, but the solution was pretty obvious, though I thought the motive was to swap the painting for a fake.

They were relying far too much on the phone call giving the time of death.

And why would someone draw attention to a book by removing it, leaving volumes 1 and 3 behind?

Incidentally, if Lauren left what looked like a sundress behind, how did she get home?

This enjoyable bit of hokum was a bit; "Detection for beginners."

The clues we there at the start.

We were given a close-ups of areas in the painting including the lighthouse though slightly obscured by a bottle, so that must have been important. Anyway the painting itself was so naff, "it had to be a forgery."
Of all the things to mention from the guidebook, "a lighthouse is being built" again had to be significant.
The Commissioner wanted the judge arrested, so you knew straight away it couldn't have been her.
Sharon Small was too obvious, as was the husband.
It had to be "someone not under close suspicion"
and also who would might lose most from the fact that the painting was a forgery.

I like the fact that the police in the Caribbean don't need the "Forensick" people to take over their job and do the investigating, as seems so necessary in programmes like "Silent Witness."

I think that's the general idea.

As for the rest of your post; perhaps you should be watching something else as you don't seem to be enjoying this show too much what with all the nit-picking :(

    Nit-picking?

Did you miss my opening sentence, in your "rush to judgement?"

    Here it is;

    This enjoyable bit of hokum

I'll give you a clue, it was immediately before the phrase you quoted.

You never change, fingers working before brain engagement.

    You're the one who's nit-picking.

Chill out, it isn't that important.

Yes, Kris Marshall has fitted in well, I'm not missing Ben Millar at all. The regular supporting cast are excellent.

The fact that you can usually work out and particularly in this one, "who dunnit," doesn't spoil the relaxed enjoyment.

    Excellent episode yet again.

I had a feeling that the victim knew the painting was a fake and that's why he left the gallery angrily.

But I had another theory... I thought the guy did it, whose wife was having an affair with the victim. He found out and got revenge by killing the escort and then framing his wife. He dressed up as a woman and went round and shot him dead, and the escort thought it was a woman hence why he says on the phone 'she's got a gun' when it was actually the guy dressed up as a woman.

Was Sharon Small arrested for that accent?

The writers have done well slotting KM into the show, so much so that I (who really though KM would be a disaster) now hold my head in shame and admit I got it wrong.

What is sad is that for all his extra screen time, Harry doesn't get an on screen credit, which his extra scenes deserve!.

Shame on you BBC, stop being such Lizardists.

I thought it was a pretty good American accent, certainly a lot better than whatever that accent is that she attempts in Inspector Lynley.

Funnily enough due to a two week delay caused by an FA Cup replay and the National Television Awards Sharon Small is on tv later today in an episode of Midsommer Murders

    I thought so too.
There were a few words when it slipped a bit, but after all, it was just a "one off" part for her.
It was certainly far better than Martin Shaw's which was all over the place in episodes of "George Gently."
