Just as I read this the line 'Two Fat Ladies, Click Click Click' from the song 'Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick' was on the radio.

Sad loss as I enjoyed that show.

She was a good staright man to Jennifer on Two Fat Ladies. She reminded me a bit of Aunt Dahlia from the Jeeves and Wooster books. (the one who goes 'Yoicks' and 'Tally Ho')

RIP Clarissa, didn't agree with her stance on many things but she was quite a character.

They're popping off relatively young at the minute aren't they?

She lived life to the full. Was non-PC...fabulous character... will be missed by family, friends and her many, many fans. She was from the old school..Never afraid to call a spade a spade.

Well in this case a reformed alcoholic with a fairly unhealthy lifestyle so it isn't really surprising.

66 is no age, and she was such a character. Rest in peace. I had no idea she had been an alcoholic though.

She had a very interesting life. Can't say I sympathise with a lot of her views but she held them with style.

Crumbs - does that mean she was only in her 40's when the show was being made?
    Blimey.

The two fat ladies were delightfully eccentric on their TV show.

I wonder if her alcoholism had anything to do with her death?

Well she was fat and lived a very unhealthy lifestyle.
Looking old and dying young is just a consequence.

Perhaps a lesson to the people of today.

They should bring back fox hunting in her honour.

Both Clarissa and Jennifer were two great characters and I loved their eccentricity just as much as their cooking. Sad news.

I don't think it did she was said to of been sober for 27 years, but she drank a monumental amount of booze when she did drink so i suppose it is possible it could of had some long term affect. Clarissa Dickson Wright certainly lived some life from Alcoholism, to homelessness and supposedly having sex in the house of commons before having her TV career. I liked her on 2 Fat Ladies a sad loss but maybe not overly surprising as she has looked ill for years anyway RIP.
