Me too - I have only just looked for a thread, and was surprised to find this one with only one post so far!

I was sure that I had watched every episode so far, but didn't get what the envelope from Denver was about. As it went into the fire, perhaps I'll never know?

    I did that too!

I've watched all three? episodes now. His wife died some time ago, I can't remember if we were told in what circumstances, so it may have had something to do with that.

Longmire is a pretty good series.

Channel 5 seemed to have doomed it by putting it on the USA channel & judging by this forum, it's worked, because nobody watched it.

Shame really, because it's worth a watch IMHO.

There was this thread but it seems to have died.:(:)

The books are well worth a read, as you would expect much more depth and more characters.

The TV series does a good job though.

Not really. The showing on 5USA was a ratings success and as such It will be getting a full airing on the main channel on Saturday evenings, beginning next week. Also a second chance window on Fridays at 11pm.

    Yes!

I only spotted that, as it had a little feature at the top of the page in my telly mag.

It's OK for those of you who subscribe to TCM :(

Not so good for those of us who wait for shows to appear on free-to-air channels.

So Channel 5 drop Justified (a very simular programme, which is more well known) from all their channels, but promote Longmire to their flagship channel?! Does Longmire really get loads more viewers than Justified did?

I accept that Justifed could never be aired in the Saturday early evening slot they've given Longmire.

Since Longmire has its "first run" in the UK on TCM, I imagine the "second run" rights are quite cheap. Also, Longmire is far closer to being an episodic procedural than the more serialized Justified, and Channel 5 clearly prefers the procedural format for crime shows.

Justified is excellent. Better than Longmire, for my money, and I like Longmire.

Some good points above about why Channel 5 have apparently preferred Longmire.

I think the main characters are OK but I feel the weekly plots are lacking.

Love this show but I'm a bit upset that the season 3 finale is next week already. :(
I hope everyone will stop thinking Branch is going nuts because they now know Ridges is alive. Longmire has connected him to Nighthorse now.

I think Branch was just furious when he grabbed at Vic and I'm sure they'll make up and be friends again. :)

What channel are you watching it on then, as the last one we saw on UK TV was series 2?

Which channel? I really liked it when it was repeated on Channel 5 as it had subtitles, whereas when I first saw it on 5USA I found some of the outside dialogue difficult to hear.

Season 3 starts on TCM on 12 April at 8pm. No sign of Season 2 or 3 appearing on any FTV channel :(

I guess if anyone does actually want to discuss it they may need to open a new thread?
