TBH I've not heard of having to enter a password to shut a Windows home PC down:confused: and what's the'etc' refer to?

    I'm willing to be enlightened.

I thought that it had been established (several pages ago) that you were using Windows Live Mail or Windows Mail as Outlook Express does not work on Vista/Windows 7.

Do you mean that the majority of your mail is going into the spam/trash/junk folder?

    Help here http://email.about.com/od/windowslivehotmailtips/qt/How-To-Delete-A-Folder-In-Windows-Live-Hotmail.htm
but read the other links on the site.

What happened about the shutdown password etc???

Is this yet another problem in addition to those in posts 54 and 56? or are those solved now?
And what logs off (?) when you access the BBC site?? The desktop or the laptop?

Click Start> All Programs > Windows Update

Let it install all the critical updates, one of which will be Internet Explorer 8.
