What won't work, if anything, if one disables or removes flash?
Very little of any worth these days.....I guess it depends on what and where you surf...;-)
Set it to 'Ask to Activate' initially, you can then see how much it's actually used....

Up until a few weeks ago I was using Flashblock with just a handful of sites whitelisted. Everything else was click-to-activate. I started going through the list not long ago and found all but 2 had since converted to HTML5. 1 of which I could do without and the other has since made a Windows 10 "app" as a workaround. As a result I've now uninstalled Flash altogether (at least on Firefox) and have run into zero problems so far.
Dare I say it, the vast majority probably no longer need Flash support. Likewise Java, though that was the case a couple of years ago! The sooner we are rid of these godawful plugins the better
Firefox 51.0 got released a couple of days ago.
It wasn't being picked up by the updater,so I had to go and get it from the mozilla site. https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/new/

The Firefox web site does not show version 51.0.1 only version 51 for download. www.filehorse.com has 51.0.1 for download.
doing an update check with my version of Firefox having used Filehorse it says I am up to date with 51.0.1
It would depend on if you are on Beta, Developer Edition, nightly or Standard issue. Mine (Standard) is not giving updates beyond 50.1.0 as auto updates of 51 seem to have been suspended for the time being.
When notifying of updates it would be more helpful to people if the pathway was indicated as well, i.e Beta.
Does anyone know of a simple way to remove the new zoom level indicator in the URL bar? I have lived without it until now and (at present) would prefer not to have it.
Note: It doesn't show unless you are zoomed. Disappears when on 100%.

Apparently, Mozilla has stopped the automatic installations of Firefox 51.0 for now, due to issues with Geolocation. Hopefully it should be fixed shorty.

Or hit the indicator & it will reset & disappear
