The full email. (I'm on aquiss but applies to all enta customers)

    Good Morning,

Following notification from our Wholesale partner to which your service with
ourselves is deployed upon, I would like to give you our customer advanced
notice of changes to broadband peak and off-peak hours. This has come about
as a result of a number of wholesale market changes, BT Wholesale changes
that are planned to start in January and increases to transit/peering
charges (knock on of the credit crunch).

Therefore to confirm. Starting Midnight, Monday 19th January 2009, the
off-peak period for all Broadband ADSL products will be changed to operate
between 00:00hrs and 08:00hrs, 7 days a week. Peak hours will therefore
    operate between 08:00hrs and 00:00hrs, 7 days a week.

    Q) Does this apply to all Package Ranges?
    A) Yes, both our home and business packages will from 19th January 2009 take
    into account new times bands.

    Q) Why have these changes come about?
    A) After 5 days of extensive and aggressive discussions to try a find a
solution, taking into account industry price increases, we have managed to
come to an agreement which we feel is the best happy medium. The alternative
was large price increases, package rearrangements and dramatic cuts to
usage, for all customers, which we argued against. We feel that we have
obtained a moral victory on behalf of our customers.

    Q) Will my allowances remain the same?
    A) Yes, allowances will remain. After 3 years of being able to maintain the
same business model, adjustments to actual hours have needed to be changed.
Naturally with wholesale changes we will monitor to ensure all costs of
providing services to our customers remain in the black.

    Q) How will this affect me?
    A) With any change, a percentage of customers will always come under the
spotlight. However, when we calculated the various models against the impact
of wholesale market changes, the decision we came to impacted less on
customers, which was our first priority. We are therefore confident that
regardless of these minor adjustments, combined with customer monitoring of
    usage, it's business as usual.

    Q) What are Aquiss plans going forward?
    A) During the past few weeks we have spoken to many industry contacts, had
various emergency meetings with alternative wholesale networks, and have
come across some interesting and creative solutions which we intend to
absorb, acquire and deploy during the early part of 2009.

    Q) I would like to understand more.
    A) Your more than welcome to give us call or drop us an email regarding this
notification, especially for clarity purposes. We can be reached by raising
a ticket from http://support.aquiss.net, emailing us direct on
    support@aquiss.net or calling us on 01746 708090

    Kind Regards

Blame BT for raising their wholesale prices, most BT IPStream based ISPs will be affected sooner or later.

LLU is looking more attractive than ever. ;)

I used to regret leaving ADSL24, but now i'm getting 15mb from TalkTalk with an 80GB limit, it doesn't seem so bad now...

I am with adsl24 & having read what they are doing, will not change my mind about being with them. They have provided me with an excellent non throttling service.

The only things I do during the day is surf, Xbox Live, Radio Streaming. All my rapidshare use is after midnight.

So will be sticking with them for the time being

This change has been postponed until they can discuss it with their resellers in the new year.

I also like the service and would accept a midnight-8am off peak - but not at weekends, since that is when I use it most.

I'm with UKFSN and have always been impressed with the service from both them (well, it was just 1 person for a long time - don't know if that's changed) and entanet.

However, it's the weekend usage that I see as being the problem for me. I'm not a heavy downloader but I don't want to be in a position where it's even a consideration if I download an iplayer show or something.

Sadly I think I'd be looking at moving to pastures new, probably o2, even if it does mean I need to bite the bullet and get the line distance the BT database holds corrected.
