Just a few ideas - what do you think? Spread out over a long time, obviously, a year or so, with loads of other smaller story lines going on in between.

Add ideas here too.

Abi Branning's battle with Bulimia
When Abi and Jay begin to sleep with each other regularly, she begins to feel self-conscious about her appearance. When she catches Jay looking at an adult magazine - not porn, think 'Nuts' - her insecurities are heightened. She throws a party following Tanya's departure - who fled after a one-night stand with Max, to get him out of her head for good. Some of the girls at the party question what Abi is wearing, and again her insecurities are heightened. Jay convinces her she is perfect, but she decides to go on a diet in order to 'conform'. Jay insists she doesn't need to, but she does anyway in a very secret way. The danger continues as, one night, when Jay takes her out for a curry, Abi returns and makes herself sick in the toilet. The story continues with Abi keeping it a secret from her family and going to extraordinary lengths to lose weight - starving herself and then caving, bingeing and throwing up what she's eaten. Lola eventually discovers what her friend is doing, but Abi begs her to keep her secret, promising she has it under control. Eventually, Lola does the right thing and tells Max about what Abi is doing to herself. Storming into the house, the scene Max comes across rocks him to his very core, and he is forced to make a devastating decision regarding his daughter.

The Nightclub Disaster
Phil gives Sharon orders to revamp the nightclub - he suggests it shouldn't be called R&R anymore and he wants it to look different. Their close working relationship brings them together. Tyler and Whitney plan their wedding for the same day as the nightclub opening, and Sharon suggests, in order to bring the numbers in, that they hold their wedding reception there. Joey is struggling with Lauren's drinking and pushes her away, whilst Kirsty - who's recently lost her baby - goes on a downward spiral of drink. Michael is blackmailing Janine for money - he knows she holds an illegal bank account of money and threatens to expose her.

The club is full of the residents of Walford. Sharon and Phil declare their love for each other in the office, whilst Kirsty and Joey share a kiss in the toilets - brought together by their anguish. Tyler and Whitney share their first dance. An explosion rips through the club and everybody runs for the exit. Soon after, the ceiling collapses and traps various people inside. Sharon and Phil are trapped in the office, and when she fears Denny will be left parentless, a disorientated Phil lets slip something he knew about Dennis's death. A frantic Whitney searches for her husband, and when he is pulled out, they share a tender kiss before Tyler dies in her arms. Ray takes the brunt of some falling rubble as he saves his son Morgan's life. Janine and Michael lie together in the rubble and he taunts her injuries, saying that he's likely to get out of this alive and he will get Scarlet. Desperate, she crashes Michael's head in with some rubble and watches him die.

The aftermath: Sharon discovers the awful truth about Phil's involvement in Dennis's death, and she disowns him. Bianca is gutted following Ray's death and she had started to develop feelings for him - she champions him for saving Morgan's life. Whitney struggles to cope following Tyler's death and eventually leaves Walford for a new life. Janine covers her tracks - has she gotten away with murder again?

Joey and Kirsty's affair
Following their kiss, Joey and Kirsty decide to focus their energies on their respective relationships - their kiss seems to be a buried secret. When Lauren falls pregnant, Joey proposes and Kirsty - desperate for a baby with Max - becomes jealous of what Lauren has, both the baby and Joey. Joey proposes to Lauren, and they have a party in the Vic. That night, Kirsty dresses to the nines and seduces Joey, and they end up back at the Branning house. They have sex, then return to the party. The affair continues, and is later exposed on Lauren and Joey's wedding day in the middle of the Square. The arguments and drama send Lauren into an early labour - she's eight months pregnant - and the Branning's are forced to come together for her. Max struggles being on the other side for once, and cruelly admits to Kirsty his night of passion with Tanya before she left. She is devastated, and wanders into the Square, where she finds herself face to face with the Walford serial killer...

Walford's New Family
The Mason family arrive in Walford - Karen is the new GP and is a force to be reckoned with. She's strong, feisty, driven and a real lady. Her husband, John, has insecurities because she is the breadwinner and he gets himself a job on the market as the road sweeper. Their twin children Kyle and Jodie are twelve years old. The other son, Jake, is nineteen and a real flirt. All three kids are John's from a previous marriage, but Karen has one son of her own - Andy, who is serving in the army in Afghanistan. Their major storylines include Karen's involvement in Abi's bulimia, the eventual death of Andy in Afghanistan and the effects of dealing with such a loss, Jake's murder at the hands of the Walford serial killer, John's developing friendship with Masood, Karen's developing friendship with Denise.

The Walford Serial Killer
Walford's new family have settled in. Dexter's violent streak has been exposed when he swings a punch at Phil for firing him. Dot takes in a homeless guy called Danny Foster - she meets him at church a few times, and due to his situation and her loneliness, she invites him to stay. He gets himself a job in the Vic, and eventually pays his way. He finds himself embarking on a relationship with Alice, but eventually falls in love with Lucy. Jake, who once slept with Lucy, is tragically murdered. The Mason family are devastated - but is it one of them? Dexter is arrested on suspicion of the murder following a recent punch up with him in the Vic. Danny proposes to Lucy. On the wedding day, the Vic is full - outside, the killer strikes again when Alice is struck down. It's revealed that Danny is the serial killer to the audience. Dexter still languishes in jail but is later released due to the latest murder. Dot discovers the awful truth and confronts Danny, but in a violent row, he pushes her down the stairs. Devastated at what he's done, he decides he needs to go. He kisses Dot on the forehead and leaves her. The net closes in on Danny, and in a desperate attempt to get away, he decides he needs to flee Walford with Lucy, but without her finding out what happened. As they drive off, Dot is discovered by Carol and rushed to hospital, and when she regains consciousness she reveals the truth. Danny is now with Lucy in a secluded house in the middle of nowhere, and she eventually discovers the truth. Desperate to get away, she steals the car keys and drives away, him screaming after her as she does. As she arrives back in Walford, the police search for Danny begins and they tell her there's no sign. A month later, Danny returns to the Square for revenge. Holding Lucy hostage in the Beale household, he tells her he's disappointed in her for not seeing him as a good person. He straps her to a chair, then sets the house alight. A fearful Lucy thinks she's had it! He goes over to Dot's house and tells her that he's sorry - that she's the only one he can trust and she gave him a second chance when he needed one. Panicked, he flees as Lucy is rescued from the burning house. As the police descend, Danny pulls out a gun and uses Dot as a hostage. When he realises the game is up, he confesses to the murders and pushes Dot to the floor, before shooting himself in the head and falling to the ground. The ordeal is far from over as the residents of Walford come to the terms with the events.

Jean finds love
Jean finds love when the Vic hosts a speed-dating night. Sensitive and kind Kevin is a widower and looking for a new companion, and he immediately hits it off with Jean. A disastrous first date causes Jean to think it's over before it's begun, but he comes back for more and they see more of each other. The storyline continues, and Kevin proposes. One day, when he collapses, he's rushed to hospital and is diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. Jean vows to stand by her fiancee and they marry in an incredibly touching ceremony, and the next day Kevin peacefully passes away. The effects of this cause Jean's bipolar disorder coming to the fore front and her friends desperately try to help her. Can Jean recover from her latest ordeal?

Janine wouldn't kill Michael under any circumstances and she hasn't killed anyone before.

Barry. She let him die, she sat and watched him after pushing him off a cliff. She's desperate, and it's her only option.

He would leave after this storyline, as would Kirsty.

She didn't in anyway kill barry, it was accident had it went to trial she would be charged with a smaller crime.

Janine tried to kill Ryan by poisoning him. Although she didn't intentionally kill Barry, she only married him because she thought he had a fatal heart condition. It was her intention to induce a heart attack by exerting him. Janine may not have successfully murdered anyone yet but it's not for the lack of trying.

Did she let Laura Beale die, too?

No. She had a physical fight with Laura which left Laura in a right state emotionally. After Janine left her home she heard the doorbell ring and rushed to answer it, not looking where she was stepping and fell over Bobby's toy. She plummeted down the stairs to her death. Pat, however, could have provided Janine with an alibi but didn't because Janine confessed she pushed Barry off the cliff and gloated while he died.

I lost respect for you once I saw that you still had plans for Joey Branning.

Don't like the sound of the new family.

    But everything else sounds good.

    Storylines to save EE:

Ray embarks on a romance with Lucy when the two bond over being unlucky in romance in R&R. Ian isn't impressed and would rather Lucy went out with someone her own age. He tells Denise who later tells Kim. Kim warns Lucy off him and tells her he's a womaniser and has a 'dark' side. Lucy confronts him about this and he opens up about his army past saying he left it after his friend got killed on service. They defy the odds and move into the flat above Beale's Plaice. Ray continues to help teenagers in the gym while Lucy runs the businesses. Tamwar is working in Beale's Plaice and has developed a crush on her. He feels like she's the only friend he has and he's never felt so lonely. He thought their friendship was going somewhere but now she's with Ray, she has no time for him. He feels the only way out is to take his own life.
When Lucy finds a suicide note professing his love for her in the chippy, she races over to the Masoods house. Masood is out and AJ is at work, luckily the back door has been left open. She has to cut him down with a knife but as she calls an ambulance we're left to wonder, is it too late?
Lucy returns home to find Ray in handcuffs. Michael informs her that the new family's 12 year old soon has accused him of sexually abusing him. Can she clear his name? Morgan is subject to bullying at school when the boy's sister informs everyone of his dad's true colours. How will Bianca react when she finds bruises on her son's arm?
Ian asks Lucy to move back in with him as Ray finds the charges but he finds her collapsed in her flat. She hasn't been eating but is this problem greater than he realises?

Jack's past has caught up with him and he finds himself embroiled in a gangland war. He owes people but a few jobs turn into bigger jobs and before he knows it, he's in over his head. With the gym facing closure following the allegations against Ray, he ressorts to desperate measures and robs Janine's sports car. She blames Michael but this isn't enough to pay off his debt and he refuses to do anything else for them. The next day, he wakes up to incessant knocking to find Alfie at the door. Roxy is missing. The gang are holding her hostage and Jack has to do as they say or else. Will he kill or be killed?

Janine has returned and is determined to get her daughter back but Michael isn't going down without a fight. She laughs in his face saying the courts aren't going to give him a baby, he has nothing. He sacks creepy Alice and hires Whitney to be her nanny.
The courts award Janine full custody with Michael allowed to see Scarlett once a week. While there he cooks Janine dinner, mushes up some pills and mixes it in her wine. With no one concerned about Janine, he keeps her under his spell. As she falls asleep, can he prove she's an unfit mother. He lives the gas cooker on but luckily Whit has forgotten her phone and arrives in time to put out the small fire that has started. Janine decides the best way to play Michael at his own game, is to accuse him of hitting her. She hires someone to leave her bruised. Jean believes her when she tells him that he pinned her up against the wall last year. With Michael's hopes of winning Scarlett looking increasingly unlikely, he snatches the baby.
Alice's obsession with Michael has grown. She has pasted her head into all Michael and Janine's snaps as well as robbing one of his shirts. Janine thinks she's the only one who can get through to him.
This all leads to a rooftop showdown with Alice, Janine, Michael, Jean, Whit and baby. Who jumps or were they pushed?

Tanya tries to hide her anger that Max has gotten Kirsty up the duff. Max declares his love for Tan but he knows that she'll never take him back now. Tanya visits Kirsty at the B&B and accuses her of faking her pregnancy. A row ensues and Kirsty falls over, she's fine but Patrick walks in on the argument and orders Tanya to leave. Later, that night she pretends to miscarry the baby but she wasn't pregnant in the first place. She was trying to get pregnant and was going to say she got her dates mixed up but with the weeks passing by, she had to resort to desperate measures. News spreads and Tanya is hurt when her bffl, Sharon, shuns her. Even her daughters don't want to know her and Cora is ashamed (bringing up killing her husband). Max informs the kids, Kirsty, Cora that Tanya tried to bury him alive, the whole family are shocked when she doesn't deny it and Kirsty & Max move into the house as Tanya is thrown out in the pouring rain. A hand bends down to her, it's the new wealthy business man who has come to see his chavvy ex (his son is accusing Ray of abuse) He promises to whisk Tanya away after it all blows(no pun) over. She wants to clear her name too. Will she succeed?
{she does and Max begs her to stay at the 11th hour but she takes Oscar and leaves, Kirsty moves back into the B&B but she's not going to let him go that easily)

Carol's relationship with Steve is going well but he wants to take it to the next level. When she says she isn't ready, he won't take no for an answer. He invites her to a hotel for the weekend. The have a lovely time but things turn sinister that night when a drunk Steve pressures her into sex. She refuses, he pushes her and she falls unconscious. A raped Carol wakes up alone on the floor with nothing but a bed sheet, will she get justice?
Bianca is devastated and blames herself for bringing Steve into their lives. She promises her mother justice will be done, who knows how many other women this man has raped and they can't promise he won't strike again! Masood looks after the kids while Bianca accompanies Carol to the station.

Sharon and Phil's wedding plans are going well. Little does he know that Shirley has rang Peggy and Grant, who are on their way to stop the wedding! They show up a week before their wedding. Grant arrives at Sharon's hen night and they give into temptation. Peggy goes to the stag and tries to convince Phil that it's too soon. The night before the wedding, Sharon tests postive, is it Phil/Grant's? Will Grant stop the wedding? Will Sharon abort the baby behind their backs when Peggy tells her it'll rip her sons apart again, she can't be sure it'll be Phil's! Shirley overhears their conversation and decides to go to the wedding afterall.
    It'll end in tiers...........
    {Liam and Courtney hit it off, is romance on the cards? When Kane returns, Grant makes him cack himself. Bianca thanks him and says she misses Tiffany.}

Like the sound of the Mason family. Jean's story would be good as long as we get to know Kevin (onscreen for a year before he dies).

All derivative but not lacking excitement, would be a lot more interesting than some of the stuff they are putting out now thats for sure!

I'd still like to see Jay in a car crash, paralzyed and in a wheelchair, learning to cope and have Abi help him, they get married and are the nice 'normal' couple Tam and Afia started out as.

A student house - bearing in mind there are several unis in London
An escort agency. Owner (Madam) preys on women having a hard time financially. They start out as escorting lonely men on dates, but the temptation of the money from the extras could become too much (could suit one of the younger girls or one of the students given the fee situation)
A pair of property developers who were married, but still in business. Both middle class and 'above' the area. He's now going out with a younger model, she ends up liking the area (a teeny bit of class inter-action wouldn't go amiss!) and stays and does up the area a bit in the process. Could include a gym.

If the story was to be true to life...the new family should be immigrants and benefit scroungers with a dozen kids and 40 relatives living with them.

While I like the nightclub idea...there's too many weddings...AND...they simply MUST...get rid of all the Brannings to make EE watchable again.
