Bran, Sandor and Khaleesi may not be commonly heard in the classroom yet, but they are all names from the hit TV series Game Of Thrones given to babies last year.
Figures show that while Oliver and Amelia were the overall most common names given to babies born in England and Wales in 2013, parents are increasingly taking inspiration from fantasy films such as Twilight and Thor.
According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), there were 187 baby girls named Arya last year - the same number as called Josephine.
There were also 50 Khaleesis - the same amount as were named Peggy.
There were seven boys called Bran and three Sandors - the same amount of boys that were given the name Malcolm last year.

I only came in to say this

Personally I think you can't beat 'Number 16 Bus Shelter'.
Can't see many girls being named 'Brienne'.
Oh, and if you were wondering, he's called Joffrey.

Katie? Is that you?
Sounds like Brionny.
They are exactly the sort of people who have Sky
What's the matter Geoffrey?

Jaime, Arya, Bran, Robb, Catelyn, Petyr, Margaery and Gregor are fine
Sansa and Eddard are borderline
Sandor, rickon, Hodor, Roose, Theon, Cersei, Tyrion and many others are a bit too much
All IMO of course
Sansa isn't a terrible name for a girl I suppose. I think Arya is better though.
Just found this in the Independent ..

I'd kind of like to meet a real life "Ming" I suppose
I've never seen Game of Thrones, so to me Sansa means this:

My friend's Grandfather is called Sandor, it's the Hungarian form of Alexander.
Oh, and I unsuccessfully waged a 9 month campaign against my wife to name our eldest son Telemachus after the Ulysses character. On balance Sansa seems like a totally sensible name
Isn't Sandy, Scottish nickname for Alexander.?
