New Vegas is definitely not on my 'to buy' list. I trudged through the main quests in Fallout 3 but I found the game incredibly boring to be honest. Not my cup of tea at all.

    WAY too much item management...

I'm loving Fallout 3 atm - despite hating it at first. Yes, it has a myriad of problems - most notably the glitches, slow start, dodgy first-person combat (when not using AP) and awful partner AI - but the gameworld is beautifully created. It feels very realistic, you never once doubt that this could be a post-apocalyptic wasteland, or that any of the characters are unrealistic.

Having said that, I'll wait for the price of New Vegas to drop. Far too many other games to pick up that will take precedence over it. I'll probably make it a summer title.

I'll be looking to get New Vegas as close to release date as possible.

I'd wait a few weeks, they might have it working then. A buggy Gamebryo engine that's been modified by a technically inept Bethesda used by Obsidian would wouldn't know quality control if they fell over it. I think there'll be a few patches. :o

Loved the IGN PAX video with the guy saying he had his weapons removed from him whilst he was in the casino but is just going to get them back... Er, NPC says no, so I'm going to load up a save:D

What annoyed me with taking away your weapons in Fallout3 was the bloody game didn't remember which ones you had hotkeyed so you had to set all that up again once you'd got them back.

Wasn't an issue for me for ages. Got a good few hours under my belt before i realised I could hotkey them:o:D

I've kept up to date with NV news and I'm quite looking forward to it, F3 was full of bugs but as long as they're not game breaking I can live with them. In a way it gives a game character, and if NV has half the character F3 then it'll be worth the admission price:) Then there's the mods of course, I've no doubt there's an army of F3 modders salivating at the prospect of getting their hands on the new edition:) (Will NV have palm trees already?;))
IGN did a good 'heading south' video a while back, really made me want to play and I've not played F3 in ages!!!

It used to drive me mad, forcing you to wear that bloody jumpsuit for Tranquility Lane was a pain too if my characters armour was made up of odds and sods. :D

Someone over at Beths forum said it's same engine version as Fallout 3, if so it'll make porting weapons and armour piss easy, none of the farting about I had to do to get modded hairs from Oblivion into Fallout. I may get it early and if it's bugged use the time to port stuff over while waiting for the patch. There will be palm trees in NV even if I have to put them in there in myself. ;)

If New Vegas is anything near as good as Fallout 3 I'll be happy. '3' has kept me going for ages and even though I've played it completely out I still enjoy taking a wander around the outer reaches of the Capital Wasteland and wasting the Traders, Slavers and Mutants that keep popping up. There's something about walking from place to place in the dusty sunshine with that old 40's and 50's music on GNR...
The only glitch that gets me annoyed is the one where you fall through the scenery and get stuck!
Oh, and the occasional lock-up when saving.

Less than a month to go Fallout fans:)

I must say the latest dev diary is great and the game looks much more complete than the last couple they've shown.

    I can't wait either :D

New vegas looks so good. Will be weird compared to the wasteland of fallout 3.

I cant wait for this either, loved fallout 3 and how much time you could waste just wandering around.

Did anyone notice on the preview vids for NV when you walking around in first person view the camera just kind of glides around. I cant remember if it was like that in fallout 3 or if there was some kind of camera bob.

I know its only a minor gripe, just seems weird to be gliding around everywhere lol

I'm not sure who to go with.

Item management not necessary though but only to clear out some space. You don't need to collect parts if you do not want to.

I loved fallout 3, but on the PS3 the game of the year version was so buggy, what with glitches, stuttering and freezing requiring a power cycle.
Im going to wait a while before I buy this new game, It's only because I loved the actual gameplay and setting of fallout 3 so much I'm even considering it.

Yeah the PS3 port was a bit of a dogs dinner, I remember a lot of complaints at the time about it. I'm pre-ordering for the PC, I can at least start modding it while waiting for the first patch.

I haven't got round to pre-ordering this yet. Does anyone have any tips as to who can reliably get the game to be on release day?

ShopTo are very good, they tend to get things delivered a day or two early.

The high street will have it.

I'm going with Amazon for the melee kit. I was going to go with Steam, but they are a fiver more expensive. Even after 1st class postage Amazon are still cheaper.

This will be a Steam registered game, so no playing it early unless the publishers have finally taken their eyes away from their spreadsheets long enough to realise how annoying we find that.
