Have had most of these in the shop I volunteer in at one point or another but have not had any copies of My world or Rated R come in at all. Did have a copy of Unapologetic though, as mentioned in the other thread.

It's always albums from reality shows where the person flopped
I worked in a charity shop for a while and we had hundreds of brand new sealed copies of Leon Jackson's album. It's likely where the record label ordered too many copies and just dump them on anyone.

So I guess that would include Hear'Say, Will Young, Gareth Gates, Michelle McManus and various X Factor related albums? :p

Yes to most of the above - but no mention of the biggest offender Blue's "One Love"

I would've thought any CD by Daniel O' Donnell would be a guaranteed find in any charity shop ?
House clearances by bereaved relatives will nearly always include Grannies 'D.O.D' collection.

I wouldn't be surprised :D Who buys Daniel O' Donnell albums anyway apart from grannies and people with no taste? :p He is one singer I have never seen the appeal of.

For years it was unfashionable even in 1985 early eighties acts like Toyah, Shakatak and Shalamar, no one wanted to know. I can remember a Toyah album going for 20 pence at a car boot sale in 1985.

Bad ones. Any charity shops anywhere remotely near me only have bad CDs or dodgy, budget label releases by classic artists which are probably cheaper in the regular stores.

When i read threads on other forums about the vinyl gems people find in their charity shops it drives me nuts. All I ever see is utter crap. I could probably predict what will be in them in the next year or two.

He does come across as a bit smug, doesn't he? I also don't like how he comes across as a bit of a mummy's boy. And his songs are so soppy they make me want to vomit.

Yep, that's one that I almost always seem to have a copy of in stock! :D

As to those who found fame through tv talent shows, I was joking with a colleague as to how long will it be before Leanne Mitchell's album starts turning up. I reckon a couple of months maybe. First DS member to report a sighting of it wins 100 bonus brownie points! :D

Don't know if it's just my area but I've seen The Darkness 'Permission to Land' in quite a few and The Calling 'Camino Palmero' which I don't understand as it's a quality album from start to finish!!!

Yes. People watch these shows, get brainwashed into thinking someone is a great singer, then buy their album on the strength of the first single release only to find the rest if it is dreary. The CD then collects dust and takee up room, so it eventually ends up in a charity shop because it didn't sell a car boot sale, as everyone else there was also trying to sell the same CD.

Before you ask, no, I'm not speaking from experience, I have never bought a CD from any of these so called artists, but have seen plenty of their CD's for sale in plenty second-hand shops.

Again, I've had The Darkness album come in fairly regularly but don't think I've seen a copy of The Calling album you mention come into my shop.
