O2, Orange, Cable and Wireless re-sellers.Or Virgin Media / Small world cable. Still a few providers out their.

There is but for how long? Vodafone seems to be on the verge of talking over Cable and wireless so what will that do to small ISps that use the network?

Source? Sky have some really good deals at the moment on Boadband and Talk packages.
They may opt run TalkTalk in the same way Bt and Plusnet operate.
Source is by looking at prices on Sky and prices on Talk Talk. but even then if I was made to choose even with Sky being more expensive I would still go with Sky.

OFT would become involved if that was the case.

Why worry, you are with All pay broadband now. How are you getting on with them? Good speeds?
You never know what will happen in the future, I may decide at some point to go for fibre, I never said i would never go for fibre. I may go back to ADSl if the service I got don't suit, I may move somewhere that don't have All pay.

so far things are ok, most of the time I get around 4 to 5 megabits, I know it don't sound much, but it was better than what I was getting before and now I got rid of my home phone I am going to put it up to 10 megabits.

Fine for me, I don't need any more.

I moved from BT to TalkTalk a while back since they installed their own equipment at my exchange and now pay less than I did to BT, get broadband 3x faster and have accurate bills. Still, everyone's a comedian on DS

Even as a very happy Sky Broadband customer I hope they don't buy TalkTalk.

There has been a tremendous amount of consolidation within the ISP market over the last few years and this would reduce competition even further.

It wouldn't be good for the punter, in my opinion.

Talk Talk are an attractive package, the shares have climbed 40% since May and customer complaints to OFCOM have fallen by half in the last year.

Timing seems to coincide with the Youview launch, which will be the main route to market for those BT football rights. I wonder if Sky have seen some way to have more control of the situation by purchasing TalkTalk - since they are one of the Youview controlling stakeholders.

If BT start selling those matches on a per game basis on the Youview platform it could make things tricky for satellite as a route to market.

TalkTalk still own an IPTV network, I bet you Sky want this for customers who can't/won't get a dish.

Surely it would be exactly like PremPlus, barring any Sky vs. BT spats.

TalkTalk are also a MVNO on Vodaphone, meaning Sky would become quad-play like Virgin.

It also gives Sky the TalkTalk name to use if CCTV win the NowTV copyright lawsuit.

Wholesale - Alot of money to be made from that. TalkTalk re-sells there network. Why would Voda want to loose the extra income.

Without Sky TV, with sky Tv it is cheaper, that is if you want Sky TV

Never can tell with Ofcom, one minute they are gutless and do nothing and then the next they shock me.

I can only but try, had a strange problem today, websites seemed slow so i done a speed test it was around 2 Mb/s, which did not please me and yet when I used netflix I was getting medium HD, so it must have been faster than 2 Mb/s.

Seems ok now, i will pop it up to ten next week I think.

TalkTalk mobile and Talkmobile (CPW) are virtual providers using the vode network. I see no reason why Voda would change any cable and wireless deals.

Totally agree. Also Sky does not have to acquire TalkTalk if it is keen to have a mobile offer, whose subscriber base is not significant, It could easily set up its own operation ferom scratch.
