    Looks more like a cross between Transformers, Battleship & Godzilla/Cloverfield.

    Normally I'd see that as a negative... But Del Toro is a bloody good director, and the cast is great too.

    Notable levels of meh more like. Possibly too much of a muchness for the casual viewer, and looks like just the sort of film you know you're either going to like or dislike. A lot of this summer's offerings are actually strongly character-based (Trek, Gatsby, Man of Steel etc), and this may fall short in that respect.
