So they get ribbed at school. Do you know of any cases?
We knew a baby boy called Dicken.
What possesses parents to do this? It's barmy!

Yeah but he must get stick at school from the other kids.
Poor guy, his parents really didn't think that through.
(It was really Sukhdeep, but we all know how you're gonna pronounce it.)
Was that a boy or girl?
You edited, boy!
I don't mind it actually - I've heard worse (don't know what that says about me )
Threads like these always make me smile and want to post my brothers' ridiculous full names.
Go on give us a clue.:D
They're all from Shakespeare plays and the middle names are worse than the first
(my fourth brother's middle name is Lysander. This is the kind of thing I mean )
My mate also went to a school with a lad called Ben, but his surname was Doby. Needless to say, it took the kids all of 3 seconds to bastardise his surname. I didn't believe him until he introduced me to the lad himself when we were in town one night.
Not at all. Their are lots of non 'chavvy' people who give their kids stupid names as well.

I don't think you'll ever beat this for a ridiculous name ..
It is a lovely old name. The was a Dickon in "The Secret Garden".
It always amuses me when some people call their kids after celebs or characters from films, tv shows etc - as though they somehow think that will make their little stars, real stars. In their dreams!
Hmmm - I feel it is done by some who are afraid their kids won't stand out in life. It makes them stand out for all the wrong reasons IMO.
I agree. Often more of a handicap than a benefit.
At that point, a person should be allowed to change it to whatever they wish
That wouldn't solve the problem of being made fun of in school though, by 16 the damage will have been done.
Although, this one runs it close

we all know that 16 year olds are great at making life changing decisions.
