s4 'not registered on network'

missus bought a s4 from a friend who says its unlocked from Vodafone, anyway for 5 days her Tesco simcard worked ok but now she aint getting txts or calls and when she tries to call it says not registered on network.
is it possible its been blocked????
how can I sort this plz plz plz????

    Could the 'friend' have reported it as stolen? if so the phone won't work any more. Tesco will tell you why it's blocked.

    Does sound like it's been blocked yes, as it worked fine for 5days then suddenly stopped working

    If you google "free phone IMEI checker" there's a free site that will tell you if a phone is blocked or not by entering the phones IMEI number which is located in the phones menu

    The easiest way to do it is call Tesco Mobile.

    I'm not saying that is definitely the case, but you'll be able to find out by calling them.

    For some reason, some people think they can pass their old phone on or sell it and then make an insurance claim on it, what they don't realise is that (a) they are committing insurance fraud, which could land them in big trouble and (b) the old phone will become a 'brick' and will be no use to anyone as when the insurance company pays out, they now own the old device if it is every found, and anyone who has it is handling stolen goods.

    We don't know that is the case yet anyway, so best to check with Tesco and see what they say.

    I hope, if you find out this phone is blocked, you go and have a word with this so called "friend", get your money back there and then, and never bother with your "friend" again.

    No real "friend" would do that to another.
