TAR Austalia episode 7
Finally managed to catch this, gave me a good chuckle with the cars, they all seem to be cursed! Seeing a different side to some of the teams now, loving the sisters tho!

Were those cars even fit enough to drive... It felt like only a few worked out of the bunch.

The car bit was easily the best part, even though I'm not normally keen on cars, as it did seem a reasonable challenge to them. It was funny a contestant calling it 'the car task' as officially I'm not sure it was actually a task.
It wouldn't surprise me if they had put in some that didn't work too well. Reminded me of an earlier season where they had some small old looking cars (somewhere in Russia or Eastern Europe).Generally though the episode wasn't that great for me. The souffle task was judged a bit generously and the cheese task was a bit boring. Surely they could have had contestants driving to find places and there must have been some more interesting locations for tasks in Paris than a cheese storage place and a shop that they take it to. It was quite processional for the teams too with not that much challenge. And once they were told to fly to Cuba I was certain it was either a continuing leg or a non-elimination one, so no great surprise at the end. Still think the cast is great, only Sticky and Sam seem to be lacking much interest for me. |

loved the episode, American was nice to see Cuba, i think its the first time as well on a tar, seemed a bit stupid to only spend half a leg in Paris though.

Find Grace really irritating, in fact that team is probably my least favourite. Dislike them even more than the alpha-male team who I don't particularly have a problem with, I actually kind of like Paul and Steve...

Grace is very irritating I agree. She needs to grow out of the 'daddy's princess' type personality she has. I don't mind the brother and was glad Grace was proven wrong by the detour task... Nooo, I still find Steve and Paul are more annoying but at least they are strong in challenges to prove to be good 'Racers'. Well Paul more so than Steve. |

Grace on the other hand has far fewer tantrums. While she has made some mistakes in her gameplay I really think it is a very strange comparison to compare her to Vanessa. If anything Joseph is the one who gets more angry within their partnership, I don't hear Grace attacking him on camera. And I do find Paul and Steve pretty boring in comparison to them anyway. If Paul is so tough as he says he is he should be able to cope with some anger from Grace. And the only reason Sarah hates Grace is because of the taxi incident, hardly the first time someone has taken somebody else's taxi on the race anyway. Vanessa was consciously trying to undermind Rachel from day 1, and simply wasn't that much fun, nearly all the jokes she made were about Rachel. Grace is definitely more fun than Vanessa ever was. So I really don't get the comparison. |

One parallel with the American version is how the producers are trying to create confrontation and ask questions of the contestants to develop the tension as well. It was funny how Sarah and James just happened to walk into Grace and Joseph with the cameras there at the end of that episode lol. It was obviously a set up lol.

I was a big Grace fan until the last couple of episodes. Sarah is absolutely right - she wasn't sorry at all (and confessed so in the next shot when Sarah wasn't there). I was annoyed that she was wrong about the detour because it gave Joseph another reason to berate her which seems to be all he does. No wonder she thinks wives are only good for cooking. I'm sure he's told her as much.
Despise Paul and Steve and the only reason they've seemed more bearable recently is because they've been so far ahead and not had to interact with other teams much. Whenever they do interact it's just dreadful and painful to watch. One thing I don't like about TARAU is the way they always try to make first place look like a race to the pitstop. In this episode it was clear that the Cops were much closer to the Twins, but the editors decided to make a fake race for first place between Paul & Steve and the Cops. On occasions, there's just no point pretending (and TAR America doesn't pretend when it's a huge lead). P&S had clearly left the crocodiles before anyone else even got there - I'd have preferred to see a race for 2nd, because it would have been more believable. Can't believe Lucy & Emilia are still there. Fabulous!! My favourite team ever possibly. |

I don't really take Grace seriously when she talks about wives and cooking lol, I think she is joking sometimes.
