Is it actually possible for a politician to achieve hypocrisy given that they genetic liars.

As he said in PMQs, coz AS wants to leave the UK as it is now, But Cameron wants to renegotiate our relationship with EU, then have the referendum on wether we still want to be part of it

    Which makes sense.

and that takes 3 years !!!!!

In or out ....do it now David.

It will never happen, its just a knee jerk ploy to upstage UK support.

Cameron , if he was popular would not have to govern by devious manipulation.

Have you been living in a cave?

We have a coalition government and policies are agreed between the two parties; one of which is very pro-Europe.

Cameron is therefore not in a position to offer a referendum before the election and even then only if he is elected with a majority.

The UK isn't Europe. We're not changing - Europe is.
There's no point in reviewing your membership to the ever changing feast that is europe until you know what it's going to look like but Scotland is looking at leaving a union that isn't changing - so why wait to make that judgement call?

It's quite simple really - I can't believe you can't see the difference. Perhaps your desire to find the excuse to have a pop at Cameron is getting in the way.

You know damn well why. It's because having devo max on a ballot wouldn't make the independence argument go away. It would be regarded as a stepping stone towards that end prize by the nationalists and the merry-go-round would just continue.

A straight yes/no removes all the ambiguity. Everyone then knows where they stand. What's wrong with that?

And because it is a coalition government, civil servants who serve the government cannot be used to draw up plans for a Conservative policy. And Clegg has made this quite clear. Until and unless Cameron wins the 2015 GE he cannot ask civil servants to do any or all of the preparatory work that will be necessary.

The difference between the two cases is that Cameron wants to negotiate a deal and then have a referendum on the result.

Salmond was a referendum and then, if he wins, then negotiate on the terms of independence.
