I really hope the Sunday Mail headline on twitter is a spoof "Clarkson like Savile".

Sadly I wouldn't put it past tabloid scum to liken a person involved in at worst a scuffle, to one of the countries worst ever paedophiles.

Read the story, it's a bombshell if true.

This is too outrageous to be true. No-one can take this article seriously.

That is one HELL of a front page from The Mail. Hints at what tack the Beeb will take next week, if it gets that far......

    That article is bizarre.

Clearly they're suggesting Cohen has likened Clarkson to Saville. But that's just plain wierd.

The rest of he article reads as of its written by Clarkson.eg He wasn't drinking. He was annoyed about lack of Producers at the shoot earlier that day.

It read like a Daily Mail anti BBC article.

A history of abuse against work colleagues is what I read into it. Them being too scared to speak out because of Clarkson's star status.

If its true he's toast and I'm not sure ITV/Sky/etc would want to employ someone like that.

    .

Where does it say that? Its actually pro Clarkson , anti Cohen from what I make of it. There is nothing new or substantive to any of the claims

Danny Cohen might be somewhat more "toasty" than Clarkson if he actually said those things.

Unfortunately Cohen is probably more secure than Clarkson.

If the MoS report is true, what a absolutely disgraceful and sinister attack this is. For the BBC to compare someone who had a bit of a 'red mist' episode with a child-sex predator (however obliquely) is simply beyond the pale and completely unacceptable. Whoever is responsible should be outed and made to face the music.

That's how I read it. Who is this unnamed Chief?

Unsurprising anti BBC slant to the article and am instinctively loath to take much that the Mail say seriously. Context is important, but whatever the scum Savile being mentioned seems misjudged to say the least.

    The plot thickens.....

Not if he made statements comparing JC with Savile.

How I read it, the Mail isn't claiming Cohen's said anything. Well not on 'record' anyway!

Edit: No...no quotes attributed to Danny Cohen.

The way I read the article is like this

The BBC person didn't compare Clarkson to Savile but they compared people's reaction to the two blokes

The BBC person knows darn well that mentioning Clarkson in the same sentence as the toxic, loathed name of Saville is enough to do the trick. Sinister tactic.

    Worth? It's not worth anything.

896,000 sigs. Fastest growing petition in history, apparently.

In terms of public opinion, that's represents a whole lot of worth.

The opinion in the context of the petition is mud.

I wonder how many people who signed the petition don't really give a monkeys about Clarkson and are instead just using it to have a go at the BBC
