Boycott is a legend, he's beaten throat cancer and championed cricket in the sub-continent to great effect. A legendary cricketer, he may be a Manchester United fan, but he's still a legendary Yorkshireman and, I contend, one of the two greatest Yorkshiremen alive today.

Despite cricket being a poor excuse for a sport, does domestic violence detract from your evaluation of him at all?

Is that really the best you've got to offer?
A woman basher and a pube headed tosser?

I hardly think playing a game for a living makes one a great person.
Sigh.
Don't shoot the messenger. I agree with you.
opps Sorry.
Boycott is definitely up there with Parky as a professional Yorkshireman. Alan Titchmarsh also tries to thrust his Yorkyness upon people.
Alan Bennet, now we're talking.
Also, I've never heard of the oher guy.
Jezza rocks!!!

I'm not from Yorkshire and I have no suggestions. I'd be disappointed if I was and that's the best it's got to offer though.
Alan Bennett is a good shout, a great playwright and worthy of consideration.
