My favourite, as I have said on numerous occasions, is Will Young.

"All time" is a rather long period from which to choose a singer! I don't know anyone from the pre-history era! :D

Haha - do your ears work properly? He sounds like a fart.

No no no... the best male vocalist ever is Brian Wilson and I'm almost offended that he's yet to be mentioned in this thread.

whilst he made some fantastic records, his voice is completely awful these days. if your a fan i presume you went to the last few solo tours, which were almost brian wilson tribute nights with brian the guest of honour

most people think of the beach boys vocals as harmonies rather than solo voices, so it's understandable whey brian wouldn't be mentioned, plus the beach boys hey day was 40 years ago now

I suppose that it's too soon to vote for the future legend that is Joe McElderry. So from ancient history, here are a few.....

Nat King Cole had the most perfectly toned voice ever.Absolutely faultless.Matt Monro could have been considered the UK version of Frank Sinatra, but I personally think that Monro had a far better voice.

Not sure if he had the greatest voice, but there is something unique about the deep bass vocals of Barry White as well. And Stevie Wonder has a pretty timeless voice.

I like Will Young and his voice is sublime since he had his tonsils out! :D

If you don't like him so be it. Brian Wilson sounds dreadful nowadays. He should retire.

    I would probably say:

    - Matt Bellamy
    - Brandon Flowers
    - Richard Ashcroft
    - Tyson Ritter
    - Freddie Mercury
    - Liam Gallagher
    - Mr Huson
    - Billie-Joe Armstrong
    - Bono
    - Michael Buble

I know a lot of people won't agree, but I really love their voices

You don't just 'retire' from being one of the greatest living song-writers on the planet, Gillian.

Let's see where Will's talents get him to when he's Brian's age... probably to the kitchen of a McDonald's washing the cookers.

OK I get what you mean but I think the image of Will washing cookers in MacDonalds is hilarious. :D With a fortune of around £12million, I think he can do better than that!

    Gene Pitney - now there's a vocalist.
