While I don't think she is the best actress on the show or anything, but I think Samia Ghadie who plays Maria on Coronation Street can rise to the occasion if she has a decent storyline.
I don't think she is as nearly as bad as some on here make out.

I think people's impression of her has been somewhat tainted by DOI.
Samia Ghadie has a cushie job. She's barely ever used yet she's been there well over ten years so must still have a tidy pay packet. Same for Kirk too.
Jackie Woodburne and Alan Fletcher in Neighbours are fantastic actors, but done get the big storylines that they should do, when they do they showcase their acting talents.
Nope we get stuck with Kate, Georgia, Kyle, Josh and Amber all the time - Boring.
tbh not me either. I liked Maria when she first came into it but I think she is spent but that's just me.
The majority of the characters on Coronation St are. Look I know the producers want to keep as many characters as they can to add familiarity to the show, but they end of keeping the most lousy redundant characters. While the good well acted ones always slip through their fingers.
Wasn't that a real pub? I think they all went to a real pub for a day to get a feel of what it's like to run it.
I don't know the answer to that. Just looked like the Vic - so I imagined it was.
Could well be yes - I must have missed that bit of the article.
Come to think of it - Maddy Hill could be classed as under-rated, her stories have been good so far with a slow-burning and fascinating build-up, with the epilepsy and fits, for example.
But because the Carters are not in the spotlight at the moment and are being overshadowed or have recently been by Stacey amongst other stories - she doesn't really get the recognition she deserves - as of yet, anyway.
So under-rated - Maddy Hill, is definitely one that falls in this category.
Emmerdale have numerous cast members that deserve so much more recognition than they're getting. These include:
- Jeff Hordley (criminally underrated)
- Emma Atkins (see above!)
- Zoe Henry
- Jane Cox
- Charlotte Bellamy
- Steve Halliwell
That's just off the top of my head. All of these actors/actresses can out act the entire Emmerdale cast combined when given the right storyline and the writing is good.
On the subject of other soaps, Danny Dyer has shown himself to be quite a good actor. Jacqueline Jossa (whose character I have a love-hate relationship with) is an extremely good actress when the writing is good. Katherine Kelly (Becky McDonald in Corrie), when she was on the show, was heads and tails above the rest of the cast. And as for David Neilsen (Roy)... well, how he hasn't received recognition for his work in Corrie is simply beyond me.
Comments
There was a good picture of Danny Dyer in the Vic pulling pints on DS - with his screen-daughter in the background.
Maddy Hill who plays Nancy Carter had her hair in what looked like were ringlets (her hair is not like that in the actual show).
lol:D:o:D
the UKs most under-rated actress .
The girl belongs in a big budget SciFi movie

Neighbours bosses sort it out.
