CS: Past characters that had potential to stay a lot longer than they did

First one to spring to mind is Charlie Stubbs, very interesting character. Not sure if the actor left himself or Corrie didn't renew his contract but that character had great potential for other future storylines. Kirsty Soames is another one, best most complex character Corrie has had in years. Bev Unwin had great potential to stay on the show as well :)

    agree with ye there people. Also Richard Hillman and that blond girl who worked in Audreys salon alongside Marie cant remember her name I think it was Natalie? She went out with Nick and ended up in hospital, I think she her character had great potential for a stalker storyline.
