  It doesn't say very much about the choice of songs this year if the best song was effectively a song from last year.

  If I was forced to chose, I'd chose the worse singles list as the best, but take out BEP from it.
  
  This year has been absolutely shocking for music anyway, plus I'm not really a pop kid so the charts rarely feature anything I like.

  ha ha well i like it that we are all different!
  
  i did actually download fireflies at the time but now it's like grrr and scouting for girls i just think is so disposable, cheap kinda pop.
  
  i was surprised that 'start without you' got a number one too....i preferred 'all night long' too.
  
  The other ones i toyed with for the Top 5 were Cee-Lo and also 'Just the way you are' coz they are also great pop songs.
  
  Both of JLS's number ones were pretty poor this year too.
  
  As for Bad Romance it was number 1 in 2010 so it qualifies!

  Best: Cee Lo Green - Forget/F*ck You (I prefer the Forget You version), Diana Vickers - Once, Rihanna - Only Girl (in the World)
  
  Worst: BEP - The Time, X Factor - Heroes (Great that it's for charity, but as a single it is dire)
  
  Ellie Goulding Starry Eyed and Your Song are two songs that (IMO) were robbed of a number one.

  the only no 1's i liked was telephone, fireflies and at a push bruno mars "nothin on you" i liked the production in Tinie Tempah "pass out" but i just cant get past how terrible those lyrics are..
  
  the rest of the no 1's have been crap as you'd expect
