Rented property, pets & fumigation

I'm after a bit of advice.

I've currently just moved into a rented property and I'm planning on bringing my cat. The landlord has allowed pets as long as I get the property professionally cleaned and fumigated before the tenancy ends.

Does this the fumigation part seem a bit excessive? If not, what are the prices involved for a 1 bedroom place?

Thanks. :)

He's probably worried about fleas - and I know everyone says 'my cat doesn't have fleas' but they do, just as kids get nits - they just DO! I can't see it's unreasonable, at least he's letting you have a cat.
