Most of the men are in the doldrums after a poor showing at the Worlds.
Has the funding been cut or is it just an aging squad or training techniques declined or has everyone else caught up.

Only 6 countries entered for the men's pursuit at the track cycling

Assuming India will be the slowest it looks like we've got 5 teams going for 4 places in the semis ?

Big crowds at the triathlon, in the paid stand, out on the course and at the free screen.

    Gandy swimming for Aus now.

As already said, she made the decision post 2012 after a bit of a disastrous year for her. She's lived out in Aus since 2007 and so was quite separated from the rest of the GB squad. She did a compulsory year away from international swimming before joining the Australian team... disappointing for team GB as she's a hugely talented swimmer, but I thin it was the right move for her

Tough running course in the triathlon, they've got to do a big climb 3 times.

Just as well it's a nice day.I wouldn't want to be running around Glasgow in a swimsuit when it's cold and raining.

Looking at the way they are running going into this final lap the first gold medal looks like a battle between England and Canada.

I remember how people were saying this at the same point in the last olympic-cycle ;)

the cycling teams aim to peak for the olympics, not the commonwealth games.

Holland will take the bronze, it's between stimpson and sweetland for the gold now.
