Because you didn't just blindly slate KH, you dared to differ from the group view!! Tut tut.

She would be shite, but as Crowell has employed a racist and a criminal I don't think he'd mind someone who's a bit naughty on twitter.

:D I've had some flack off Perez followers but it's all water off a ducks back matey ;-)

"the bit about talent" was implicit in the fact that he produced the most watched television programme in the world.
Since that was too difficult for you to understand, here it is in plain language: by producing the most watched tv programme in the world it makes him a TALENTED producer. He made and sold a product 1.1 billion people enjoyed.

I was under the impression he was 'given' the title executive producer for his work on actually bringing the show back after it flopped, rather than any actual producing? I thought there were two others that actually produced the show, you no doubt know them, I can't recall their names.
If I'm wrong I stand corrected.

After the show was cancelled at the end of the first series it was Hasselhoff who believed in the programme. He invested his own money to revive the show. One of the main jobs of a producer is finding finance. He did that. He bought the rights to the show from NBC before bringing it back for what was a very successful ten years.

:D "I'd rather cut myself and bathe in vinegar" - if that's true - there is a god and he's called Simon Cowell. I was always suspicious of that story. Sounded like something a bad pr person would come up with to create a buzz. Not quite on a par with Gina "Rio's" bathroom selfies... but close.

It's pretty much the same at the end of any reality series - suddenly they're all touted to do this and that with no foundation but to hang on to their renewed 5 minutes. I did have a brief flicker of terror when I read about Amanda Holden possibly leaving, though. I can only just about cope with Walliams !!!

BGT not something I would grace with my time or attention, but surely it could sink no lower than employing Hopkins as a judge?

A prerequisite for being a judge on a show about talent is that you can demonstrate some discernible talent yourself.

Simon is struggling to keep his shows on air due to a lack of viewers now. Why would he want to put in the most hated woman in the UK? It would not make business sense.

But by saying he wouldn't work with her he generates publicity as Katie H haters get into a frenzied state and post threads on it in glee not realising they keep her in the public eye.
Much as Cowell's a bit of a numpty he knows how to play the more gullible members of the public to gain publicity.

There'd have been a Hell of a lot more reaction and publicity if he had given her the gig. Did the mogul miss a trick or did he just say it like it is  ;-)

That's a good point Trevor. Either way he gets publicity by mentioning her.

And Dexter misses the point which I think Planets raised in another thread about how she has become a lens through which we can discuss what's happening in the society around us. Discussing her prejudice and bigotry is not boosting her image, it's chipping away at it. As if we don't understand her self-promotion schtick. She personally doesn't deserve publicity but her actions do.

I watched Reality Bites for the first time earlier this evening. It was heartening to see panelists squash her attempts to belittle the intelligence of women who were on the show alongside her. That's definitely going to pick up momentum as she gets more of these gigs.

It's 'Dextor' actually, I missed no point thank you. You carry on thinking her image is being chipped away when it isn't at all. From being talked about and called dick of the year on The Last Leg to appearing on Reality Bites laughing and joking with the guy that said it.
I don't expect you to see through your dislike of her, but I see her in the media more than ever.

But that programme probably only had her on so that lots of extra people tune in just so they can be offended by something she has said. They get a spike in ratings for having her on and she gets more work.

This is true. She's so topical right now & I think people are watching in horrible fascination. At least that's my motivation for watching :D. I tried watching the first episode and gave up after 5 mins thinking, sheesh, not another television programme about television programmes. Emma Willis is too good for this. Surely?!

Oh but you do. Her image is definitely Bitch of Britain. She cultivates it. Celebrates it. She wants to cause controversy to make it. She's quite clear that this is part of the self-promotion. That's how she ends up being awarded all these titles and she has to draw whatever resources of self-preservation she had to laugh at it. She can hardly flounce off set when somebody insults her, can she? And to reiterate, she certainly didn't have an easy time on Reality Bites.

There's no such thing as bad publicity is clearly fitting for Katie H but hardly for Simon Cowell and BGT. He was just telling it like it is regarding her  After all it's only what we are all thinking.
